What is that awful noise?

It stops.

Then it starts up again and this time it's even louder!

I crawl out of my bed and open my window.

"Yo! It's like 7:00am! Turn that freaking lawn mower off!!" I shout down at Mr. Craw.

"Alice, it's 12:30pm." He shouts back.

I turn and look and my clock.

12:32pm it reads.

"Oh, my bad. Have a nice day." I quickly say and then shut my window.

I walk out of my room and down the stairs.

"Oh, look. Sleeping beauty is awake." My brother Miles says to me when I pass his room.

"Whatever." I mubble.

"You're up. Good. We're leaving tomorrow. Have you got everything packed?" My stepfather Liam asks.

"I'm gonna finish packing today."

"Okay. I made some breakfast in the kitchen." He says reading the newspaper.

"Thanks."

I grab a plate of pancakes.

I flick through instagram while eating them.

Oh look, Stacy is going to India for the holidays.

Mark is going to Canada.

Lisa is going to Paris!

And I'm going to freaking England!

I turn off my phone and wash the plate.

I take a quick shower and get dressed.

Most of the day I just finished packing.

I don't want to leave Miami!

This place is my home.

But I don't have a choice.

Liam got a great job in England and it pays good. So I'm just gonna have to suck it up.

I'm leaving my best friend Mae, but she will try and visit me when she can.

I finish packing around 5:00pm.

"Alice, sweetie. We are going out for dinner, are you ready?" My mum, Beth, asks me.

"Yeah coming." I say grabbing my phone.

We go to my favourite Italian restaurant.

"I'm going to miss this place." I say.

"Same." Miles says.

We finish eating and then get some ice cream on the way home.

I get Mango flavor, Miles gets chocolate, Liam gets vanilla and mum gets watermelon.

I go to the park and swing on the swings.

I swear sometimes Miles and I are more mature than Mum and Liam.

Liam has been good for her.

My dad cheated on her with her sister when I was 6 and Miles was 7.

It broke our family apart but Liam seemed to fix everything.

Liam is kind of like an uncle.

He's not as strict as a dad, but he can put you in your place when he needs too.

"So you excited for England?" Miles asks me.

"Not really." I say.

"Me either." He says.

We all finish our ice creams and then drive home.

"Goodnight Alice and Miles. I'll wake you both up at 9:00am because we are leaving at 10:00am. I love you both." Mum says hugging Miles and I.

"Love you too Mum. Night." I say.

"Night kiddo." Liam says messing up my hair.

I laugh and say goodnight.

I stay in Miles's room a bit because it's just what we do at night.

We talk for a while and then I say goodnight to him.

I get my pajamas on and then watch some Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

I watch about 2 or 3 episodes and then fall asleep.
