She's not listing to me.

I told her to stay away from THEM.

But all she's been doing is hanging around with them since I told her to not to.

I guess she doesn't like to be told what to do.

Alice has been ignoring me all week.

"Dude, get over it. It's not your fault she didn't listen to you. She's just gonna learn the hard way." Asher says to me sitting on the couch.

"But I don't want her to learn the hard way," I say groaning.

"You can't protect everyone."

"I can at least try," I mumble.

Maple walks into the room so I walk out to give them some... privacy.

Asher and Maple have been dating since high school and they are still madly in love.

Maple is pregnant with a baby boy and is due in 2 months.

It's a nice day outside so I decide to take a walk down to the park.

I like to take walks because they relax me.

When I get to the park, I swing on one of the swings.

I can't get Alice out of my head. I barely know her but I just can't stop thinking about her.

"Hey..." I hear a quiet voice behind me say.

I turn around and see Alice standing there with a purple sweater on. It looks great on her.

"Hey," I say slowing down my swinging.

She walks over to the swing next to me and starts swinging slowly on it.

"It's a nice day today," I say.

"Yeah. That's why I came out of my room." She says.

We swing in silence for a while but she breaks it by saying, "What's your favourite colour?"

I look at her and say, "Blue. Yours?"

"Yellow." She says.

Then we start to play 20 questions.

Her favourite food is pizza and mine is garlic bread (weird, right?).

She likes to swim in the ocean and I like to swim in Lakes.

Alice prefers books instead of movies but I'm the other way around.

Her birthday is 22/9/98.Mine is 17/12/98.

She likes summer but I like winter.

We're both very different, but it's nice.

We decide to go play on the playground.

I feel like a giant on the little playground.

Asher calls me saying that I need to get back to the house.

"Sorry, Alice. I need to go. But I'll see you at school." I say hugging her.

She hugs me back and says, "See ya."

I half walk/run back to the house and when I finally get there, everyone is standing around the table.

Asher continues to talk after a quick pause when I arrive.

I stand next to his twin brother Axel.

"I have made watchers for tonight. Sam, Liam, Axel and Harry you are all watching 6pm-3am. Owen, Chris, Pete and myself will be watching 3am-8am. Everyone okay with that?" Asher says.

Everyone nods their heads.

Asher dismisses all of us and I ask Axel what that was all about.

"Chris said that The Night Walkers are planning to kill again tonight. Asher doesn't want to risk not going and people ending up dead when he could have stopped it."

"Oh, okay. So where's Bennett?" I ask Axel.

Bennett is one of my closest friends.

"I think he's at work. Do you mind going and telling him that's where we will be all be tonight when he gets home." Axel says giving me his keys

"Yeah. Sure." I say taking his keys.

I get in the car and start to drive to the garage.

Bennett works on a car garage fixing up old cars and making them new.

It's about 15 minutes away from the house driving so that's why I didn't just walk.

When I get to the garage, I see Bennett under an old car.

"Boo!" I say shaking him but he doesn't budge.

"You can't scare be anymore, Owen." He says chuckling.

He gets up from under the car and washes his hands cause they're covered in oil.

"So somethings happening with The Night Walkers tonight so Asher has assigned us all a watching time except for you. It's cause you're working today and he thinks you'll be too tired to stay up." I say but we both know that's not true.

A few months back Bennett got in a car crash and hurt his leg.

He hasn't been able to do much since then and even if he does come tonight, he won't be able to run if something happens.

"That's alright, tell Asher thanks." He says.

"Yeah I will. So has it been busy?" I ask taking a seat on the couch.

"It's been alright." He says grabbing a tool from the tool box.

I was about to ask him something else but then I hear a crash outside.

"What was that?" Bennett asks looking up.

"I don't know." I say. "But let's go check it out."

I stand up from the couch and grab a baseball bat from beside the couch.

Bennett and I walk towards the garage door that leads outside.

He opens it and we both walk outside and down to the parking lot cause that's where it feels like it sounded it came from.

Then I hear another crash in the trashcans and then I move them all aside to see a scared looking Alice.

She looks up and me and gives me a weird smile.

"Alice? What are you doing here?" I ask helping her up.

"Well I-" she begins to speak but then we hear the sirens go off.

Shit. They're coming.
