1.3/Owens POV.
She said yes.
I haven't been this happy in a long time.
I didn't actually think she was gonna say yes.
But I'm happy she did.
I walk down the corridor and try to find my two friends Sam and Able.
I finally find them in a classroom eating their lunch.
"Ah, Owen. Able and I need to talk to you." Sam says when I enter the room.
I sit down on one of the chairs and wait for him to continue.
"So I was taking to Able about maybe having someone join The Night Walkers." He says.
The minute he says that I tense up.
"No," I say.
"Oh come on Owen. We need another person in there other than Chris. They find Chris a good watcher instead of a hunter so if we have another person actually helping out with hunting, we can get more of an idea about what they're up to."
"I said no."
"Well, Asher said yes," Able says.
I look up at him and frown.
"Why did you talk to him about this?" I ask.
"Um. Because he's the leader." Able says like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Yeah, I know. I just thought you would have consulted me first." I say.
"We knew you were going to say no." Sam chimes in.
"Anyway, who were you thinking about going over there?" I ask not wanting to start a fight.
"We're not sure yet, but maybe Liam and Pete since they're our newest. The Night Walkers wouldn't know who they're cause they haven't seen them with us yet." Able says.
"Will they be able to handle it? Like you said, they're new." I say.
"Liam and Pete were both 2nd commander in their other gang. They can handle it." Sam says.
Wow. Second commander. That's really good.
I'm only the third commander.
"Okay. I'll talk to them." I say. "But I'm not promising anything."
"Thank you, Owen! Really, man, we appreciate it." Able and Sam say.
"It's okay. I guess you guys are right. We do need more eyes on them since they're gaining more people." I admit.
"Yeah. They're getting more and more dangerous. We should start to look at more people who are willing to join." Able says.
"I'll talk to Asher and see what's happening." I say standing up from the chair. "But right now I need to go."
"Okay. See you at home Owen." They say.
I walk out of the class room and down the hall.
On my way to the bathroom Mrs. Fisher stops me.
"Oh, Owen. I need you to get my glass purple, yellow, orange and blue paint from the art room. I would but I'm in a hurry. I'll give you my key and I'll make a late pass for you." She says giving me the keys.
"Yeah sure Mrs. Fisher, I don't mind. I'll place the paints on your desk in your classroom." I say.
"Thank you so much, Owen. I really appreciate it." She says.
