"Why are you smiling like someone just gave you 6 million dollars?" Toby asks when I get to the gym.

"Um. I just saw someone I thought I'd never see again." I say.

I sound like I'm singing a song or something.

"Who?" He asks.

"Owen Saff."

"Stay away from him." Toby's voice changes into... hate.

"What? Why?" I ask confused.

"Just. Stay. Away. From. Him."

"Okay. Jesus calm down."

He walks away to his team.

Why does Toby want me to stay away from him?

The boys start their practice while I sit and watch them.

Toby is pretty good at rugby. Better than all his other teammates.

A couple of guys have been looking at me and smirking.

I just roll my eyes and keep watching Toby.

My phone starts buzzing and I look down and see that Miles is calling me.

I thought he was in class?

"Hello?" I ask when I answer it.

"Hi, I'm Blake. Your brother Miles is on the floor with blood all around him. I just found him this way. You're the only person in his contacts and I'm kind of panicking on what to do." A guy voice says in a rushed voice says.

I immediately get up from my seat and ask "Where is he?"

"Near the boy's bathroom on the 2ndnfloor." He says quickly.

I run out of the gym and run up the stairs to the boy's bathroom.

I see Miles on the floor, his head dripping with blood.

"Miles!" I yell running to him and kneeling next to him.

I put my head next to his mouth to see if he is breathing or not, he isn't.

I look up and see Blake with wide eyes staring at Miles.

"Go get the nurse!" I yell at him.

He quickly runs down the stairs.

I start to cry uncontrollably.

Toby runs up the stairs with all of his teammates and they all look at Miles.

I also look down at Miles and start to cry even more.

At this point, people have come out of their classrooms and are watching the scene.

The nurse comes with her first aid kit and with the principle.

I look down at my skirt and it's soaked with blood.

Some of Tony's teammates help sit Miles up from his position on the floor.

The principle is telling everyone to go back to class but no one is moving.

The nurse observes Miles's head and says "He was beaten up. But not that bad. He'll survive."

Who would want to beat up my brother?

He is one of the sweetest people I know.

Yeah, we fight sometimes but I still love him.

It's only his first day.

Tony helps me up off the floor because I can barely move.

We walk away and Tony takes me outside.

"I need to get you cleaned up." He says taking me over to a sink.

He cleans my hands from the blood and then he tries to get it off my skirt, but it doesn't work.

"Who would do it?" I ask out loud.

Toby looks at me and says, "I don't know. Miles probably just pissed someone off accidentally."

I look down at the floor and start to cry again.

Toby tries to comfort me in a hug but I push him away.

I walk off and back into the school.

When I get mad or upset, I push people away.

I don't know why it's like a reflex.

I walk into the nurse's office and see Miles on a bed still unconscious.

Some of Toby's teammates are still there probably cleaning off the blood.

The nurse walks over to me and says "Your mother and father are on their way. Please wait in the waiting room until they arrive." with a sweet smile.

"I'm not leaving him," I say.

"Hunny-"

"No! He's my brother. I'm. Not. Leaving. Him." I say walking past her to Miles.

I don't mean to be rude, but he's my brother.

His head is wrapped in bandages and one of the nurses is wrapping his hand up.

"It was probably Ryan." One of Toby's teammates whispers to the other but I can still hear him.

"Nah. I think it was Dennis." The other one says.

"I wonder why they would have done it, though. He's new." The third one pipes in.

"I saw his sister talking to Owen today. That's probably why." The first one says again.

Owen?

What does he have to do with any of this?

I'm just about to ask them why, but then mum and Liam come in.

Mum is already crying and Liam is just holding on.

He hates seeing people he cares about hurt.

Mum and one of the nurses talk about Miles's condition.

She says that he will be fine and to just take a quick stop at the hospital as soon as he wakes up for a check up.

We can take him home but he won't be awake for a couple of hours.

Mum and Liam thank the boys and Blake for helping him.

The three boys names were Kody, Oscar and Dean.

Kody and Dean help Liam put Miles in the car because he's a pretty heavy guy while Oscar gets Miles's stuff from his locker.

Mum and Liam don't try to talk to me because they know I won't answer.

They just give a smile to me.

Kody comes in the car with us because Liam will need help to carry Miles to his bed.

Miles and Kody have been in every class together today and they have talked so that's why Kody has offered to help him.

Kody stays in Miles's room for a while and then leaves when he wakes up.

Miles says that he is fine and that his head doesn't hurt.

He remembers a guy named Dennis talking to him before everything went black, but he isn't sure if he was the one who hurt him.

But I'm pretty sure he is.
