Leaving

My heart's been ripped out of my chest
You're leaving me to California
I scream but no sound comes out
I cry but the tears won't fall
You're leaving me to California
I'm ripping up the paintings we made
I'm ripping up the notes we wrote
Until I realize I threw them away long ago
I'm yelling at you but you can't hear
You're leaving me to California
You'll meet someone and soon forget
But I shouldn't care, I've moved on
I haven't seen you in months
So why does it feel like I've been shot?
You're leaving me to California
11:11 I wish you would stay
11:12 I know you won't
11:13 I only have a week left with you
11:14 party on Sunday?
11:15 visit me in California
11:16 I'll pay for it
11:17 no I'd never be allowed
11:18 but you're coming
11:19 okay. Get some sleep
11:20 you too
11:21 okay.
I'm grabbing at my clothes
Trying not to suffocate
I can't breathe
I can't feel anything
The words blur together
I'm having an episode
And you're leaving me to California
You were the only one that helped
And you're leaving me to California
I'll never recover from this
And you're leaving me to California
You're my best friend please don't
I can't survive this
I'm laying on the floor
I was once on the bed
I hear footsteps running up the stairs
It'll be too late
My heart is broken
I'm bleeding out on the floor
But there's no blood
It's a hallucination but it's real to me
They can't see it
The blood soaking the floor
Coming from my chest.
And then you're there
Touching my cheek
Telling me it's okay Speedy
You'll be okay
Without me
And I scream your name
Because
You're leaving me to California
