Chapter 5

The four of us spent the day getting ready. By the time the Lynch’s came to pick us up we were all ready. I was wearing a lime green button up flowy top with dark blue skinny jeans. Natti was wearing a bright yellow blouse with a black leather jacket, dark blue skinnies and black combat boots. Liz wore a blue button up shirt with black flair jeans. Nick wore a black button up with hot pink suspenders and black combat boots. The Lynch’s arrived and we had them come in while Natti and Liz finished getting ready.

Rydel was wearing a black leather zip vest with studded shoulders over a hot pink strapless dress. Riker was wearing a black leather jacket over a black shirt with dark blue jeans  and a studded belt. Ross wore a black shirt with  dark blue jeans with a chain hanging on the right side. Rocky wore a black vest over a dark gray graphic tee with dark blue jeans. Ellington wore a black cardigan over a gray graphic tee with dark blue jeans. Kelly, Ellington’s girlfriend, wore a green tank button up with black skinnies and black Toms. Ryland wore a red t-shirt under a black blazer with dark blue jeans and a red black snapback hat. Faith, Ryland’s girlfriend, wore a short tan strapless dress.

We all got into the van so we only had to take one car to the restaurant. Riker dove with Liz riding shot gun , Ryland and faith sat behind them, Rydel, Nick, Ellington and Kelly sat in the first row of four seats and Ross, Natti, Rocky, and I sat in the second row of four seats.

Once we got to the restaurant we were seated at a round table for twelve. I sat between Rocky and Ross, Natti was next to Ross and Riker, Riker was next to Natti and Liz, Liz was next to Riker and Ellington, Ellington was next to Liz and Kelly, Kelly was next to Ellington and Ryland, Ryland was next to Kelly and Faith, Faith was next to Ryland and Nick, Nick was next to Faith and Rydel, Rydel was next to Nick and Rocky.

For dinner, at Palermo Ristorante Italiono, Riker had Linguine Taormina,  Liz had Farfalle Gratinat, Ellington had Linguine Mondello, Kelly had Penne Siracusa, Nick had Linguine Carrettiara, Rocky had Carb Ravioli, I had Penne Siracusa, Ross had Linguine Puttanesca, Natti had Fettuccine Alfredo, Ryland had Zuppa Di Pesce, and Faith had Ghochi Del Giorno. For dessert Riker, Rydel and I had Sicilian Cannoli, Liz and Ross had Tartufo, Ellington and Ryland had cold Zabione, Kelly Nick and Faith had Tiramisu, and Rocky and Natti had Cream Carmel.

After we were all dome eating the twelve of us decided to go to a roller rink.

“I haven’t been to a roller rink in ages.”

“I know.”

“Yeah Spencer’s closed and then there wasn’t anywhere to go.”

“I haven’t been sense I fractured my wrist.”

“Are you two coming in or you gonna talk?”

“We’re coming in.”

The twelve of us walked into the roller rink and got our skates.

“Nici skate with me?”

“Fine Rocky I’ll skate with you. Just don’t let me fall.”

“I won’t you can trust me.”

“I know I can.”

We went out on the rink and after skating with Rocky for a bit I went off and skated with everyone else. Once they announced it was couples skate I went back over to Rocky.

“Hi Beautiful.”

“Hey Rockstar.”

“You having fun?”

“I am.”

“Do you think it’s working?”

“I think so they seem closer.”

“They do. I knew it would work for Liz and Riker, but I didn’t know about Nick and Rydel.”

“I know. Next song you go skate with Rydel and I’ll skate with Nick, and we can figure out what’s going on.”

“Sounds good.”

When the next song came on Rocky went over to skate with Rydel and I went to skate with Nick.

“So how’s it going with Rydel?”

“Good, I’m starting to like her a lot.”

“Would you want to ask her out?”

“Maybe, I would want to be sure she would say yes though.”

“Let me talk to Rocky and see what I can find out.”

“You would really do that?”

“Yes I would , now go back to Rydel I have to talk to Rocky.”

I skated back to Rocky and flung my arms around his neck.

“So what did you find out?”

“That he likes Rydel and would ask her out if he knew she would say yes.”

“She will say yes to him.”

“But what about when he leaves for Vermont?”

“That would be for them to figure out.”

“Your right.”

“It will work out I promise.”

“Do you think we could stay together tonight?”

“As long as your sister and my parents are okay with it.”

“I was thinking all of us if that’s okay.”

“Yeah, it would be just us Lynch’s though.”

“That’s fine, I just don’t want to be alone tonight.”

“We’ll talk to your sister and my mom latter .”

“Thank you Rocky.”

“No problem, so why don’t you want to be alone tonight?”

“Can I tell you later please?”

“Yes you can.”

“Thank you Rocky.”

“No Problem beautiful.”

We headed back to the group and turned in our skates.

“Hey Liz.”

“Yeah little sis?”

“can I stay with Rocky tonight?”

“It’s that day isn’t it?”

“Yeah, I just trust him so much, and I feel safe around him.”

“You can stay as long as his parents are okay with it.”

“Thank you Liz.”

We went back to the Lynch’s house and I went into the kitchen to talk to Stormie.

“Mrs. Lynch can I ask you something?”

“What is it sweetie?”

“Is it okay if I stay with Rocky tonight?”

“Why do you want to?”

“exactly a year ago something happened, it really messed with me. I couldn’t sleep for months after it happened, and the only reason I’ve been okay today is because I’ve been with Rocky. If you allow me to stay I promise nothing will happen.”

“Nici it’s alright you can stay I trust both of you.”

“Thank you Stormie.”

I went back out to say goodbye to Liz, Natti and Nick, then headed up to Riker and Rocky’s room. Rocky let me borrow a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt to sleep in. Once I was changed he came back into his room and held me in his arms. That night was the first night  I was able to fall asleep right away and was completely nightmare free.
