Chapter Six- Surprises?!?

Grace POV

I felt something warm in my ear and my eyes burst open to find Alice laying in the edge of my bed blowing in my ear. She was smiling at me and I narrowed my eyes at her before lunging forward and wrapping my arms around her pulling her towards me. In the end she ended up pinned underneath me both of us giggling like little school girls. That is until she realized I was only in my underwear.

We both just laid there staring at each other wide eyed. I watched as her eyes flicked to my lips and back to my eyes then to my lips again. I starting leaning in and she started leaning forward, just as our lips brushed there was a loud knock at the front door. I jumped off and hurried out of the room to the front door not caring that I was only in a t-shirt and underwear.

I pulled the front door open to find Alice's mom standing there. "Good Morning Grace" she smiled walking in giving me a one arm hug. I walked into the kitchen "would you like a cup of coffee Tammy?" I asked.

"Yes dear, that would be lovely black please," Tammy exclaimed. Ally walked in still slightly dazed from what just happened and sat at the table and glanced at me for a half of second before facing her mother.

"Mother what are you doing here?" Alice asked taking the cup of coffee I made her.

"I can't just come visit my daughter?" she questioned.

"No..." Alice said flatly.

"Well then be that way, Grace darling I was wondering I we could go out to lunch one day and chat since my daughter is such an angry person!" Tammy replied to me.

I looked at Alice who just shrugged and back at Tammy not knowing what to do "sounds great," I replied at last.

"Good, how about the coffee shop Saturday at noon." Tammy asked ignoring her daughters protest.

"That would be fine!" I answered thinking about how I'd be working there anyways and Kelsey would let me off for lunch.

"Good, now I've got to go I will talk to you girls later!" Tammy called out as she went out the door. I blinked a few times before looking at Alice.

"I guess you have a date with my mom!" she replied without looking at me. I got up and went into the bedroom and tossed a pair of basketball shorts on before I heard another knock at the door but this one was softer. Maybe Tammy forgot something I thought before going to answer it. I opened the door to find myself staring into a car seat with a baby in it.

"Who is it?" I heard Alice ask from the kitchen. I just stood there staring at the baby for a second before I realized she started crying. I quickly grabbed the car seat and brought her inside. I took her into the kitchen and set her on the table undoing the car seat and pulling her into my arms.

"What the fuck!" I heard Alice say standing up quickly. As I soothed the little girl who couldn't be but a few month old I handed Alice a tan envelope taped to the car seat addressed with 'To my dear, sister Alice' I didn't know Alice had any siblings! I watched Alice's face as she read the letter, it kept getting redder and redder and she looked very upset. by now the little girl stopped crying and started falling asleep. Alice threw the letter at me before stomping into her room and slamming the door shut.
