Nate's POV

I rushed from the building and felt the heat of an explosion on my back. As the building imploded, the force sent me tumbling. Not sure if it was due to my high speed, or if it was all from the building exploding, but it sent me all the way against one of the old unused army tanks, and that's when I blacked out.

I woke up somewhere strange. Not strange as in I didn't know where I was or how I got there. I knew. It was strange because my wrists, feet, and neck were held down. I couldn't see anything other than straight above me, but I still knew where I was. They had taken me back. I didn't know if Aria was alive or not. I didn't know if any of them were alive or not. It didn't take me long to remember that Aria had to be alive, unless this whole thing was all a fake. Was she looking for me? I couldn't help it, I cried. I cried like a baby. For her, for my home, for my parents, for my little brother. I cried.

Eventually someone came into the room, but I couldn't see them. By then I had stopped crying –thank goodness– but honestly, there were probably security cameras, and they probably saw me cry anyway.

"Nate," the male voice had said. "I see you're awake."

"You already knew that," I replied angrily. Well, I sounded angry, but I was really trying to gulp back my fear. Unfortunately for me though, the strap around my neck was making it hard to swallow at all, and panicking from that made it hard to breathe.

"How smart of you to notice." He commented condescendingly. "Are you smart enough to know why you're here?"

"Because you're an a—"

"No." He interrupted me. "Because you have something we want. Something we need."

"Do I seem like I care though?" I snorted. I'm sure the abrasive attitude was a self defence thing, but it sure wasn't helping my cause.

He walked closer where I could see him clearly, and stared down right at my face. "You saw the infinity serum."

"Yes I did, it was quite plain looking to be honest. You should've made it a big nicer. Added some glitter maybe." My god I was on a roll and I needed to stop.

"Funny! You're definitely a comedian aren't you?"

"Usually it's Jack and Jason." I shrugged.

"Nate Brooks, you have something we need stored in your brain. The only place we can't find a way into."

"Well then, you have a bit of a problem don't you?" I had smirked.

"Not really..." He whispered creepily. I remember it sending a chill down my spine.

"Oh?"

"Because you're going to remember it as long as you live. You know the formula."

"And?"

"And you're going to tell us if you ever want to get out of here."

"Then goodbye world for me, huh?"
