This week 23 of us were eliminated, which leaves 377 of us. I did not expect there to be that many fights, but I guess it's for the best. We wouldn't want the overly temperamental people staying.

Also, I found out that we had one hour of class time each day, because "if we aren't smart what good are we?" Seriously, Alex said that. CeCe, of course, got upset with him for "hurting her poor little babies feelings". CeCe really is like a mother, she cares for us to the best of her ability. I really have no clue why Alex hates us all so much, but to be honest, I don't really care.

Now, it's ten minutes to the Daily announcements and my friends and are are playing a game. "Peripatetic I guess," I say, answering a question Melody just asked me.

"Ah, Aria the nomad!" Carrie laughs. "I can totally see that."

"Oh how astute you two sound using these big words!" Nate jokes.

"Simply utilizing gargantuan idioms to fabricate my intelligence," I grin, making everyone laugh.

"Well that was a mouthful!" Melody chirps.

"Mmhm! Anyway, is anyone going to join me in my travels?" I ask with a laugh.

"I'll let you know in a year, once were done here," Jen giggles. "Hey that rhymes!"

"A rhyme, what a fun way to pass the time," Jason adds, sending us all further into our laughing fit.

"Daily announcements!" Comes the man's voice. He never tells us what his name is, so we just call him the announcement guy. "377 of you have made it through the first week! Congratulations! Now, the hard parts begin! Of course, you'll still be eliminated for most fighting, but now we have something more to test you on."

I notice he said 'most fighting', I wonder why?

"You'll be trained to notice differences faster, match things up as fast as possible, pick out a certain person or thing from a crowd. Basically, we'll be helping to train your brain to work even faster. At the end of the week, those who don't seem to be showing improvements in intelligence will be eliminated."

Woah, one week to change how fast our minds work, or we're leaving? This is going to be harder than I thought...

Guards come to gather us up and we're taken to a big white room. White floor, white walls, white ceiling. A glass tube is in the centre of the room, it's just big enough to squeeze two people in. I'm asked to walk in it, and I do. The glass door closes behind me and suddenly the glass turns black. Then a number code appears on the wall of the tube.

"Pick out the sixes," a robotic voice says.

I quickly start searching the screen for the number six and tap it each time I find it. After a while, the voice asks me to find another number, and after that another. Then, it switches to colours and asked me to pick out certain colours. Eventually it gets harder, asking me to pick out patterns. Then, it switches to people. I'm asked to find a certain person, as he or she runs through a crowd.

Everyday, we do this, hoping that our brains have gotten faster, but having no way to know for sure.
