--- Jacobs POV ---

I mounted my horse, and waved at the people who'd come to see me off, all 100,000 of them. The entire kingdom believed I was going on a massive journey with only my honor guard, to prevent a war with the demons, and leaving my mother, Gwendolyn, as Queen Regent until I returned, Triumphant. Heh. Nothing so majestic.

Mira and Carter were coming with me to the demon realm, while Kale stayed to protect my children. They were freshly born, and absolutely adorable.

I'd had the two girls named Gwen and Lilly, as a tribute to my mothers, and they were currently being cared for in the Harem, the most securely fortified place in the entire castle, both magically and physically. And there was even demon magic protecting it, from Mira and Carter and Kale.

They were safe. And if not, The Gods themselves wouldn't dare Protect the people who made them unsafe.

Gwen was born with a full head of my original brown-black hair, but her mother's (Mary) emerald green eyes. Lilly had Inky, almost Abyssal-Black hair so dark it seemed to suck in light, and her mother's (Linda's) sky blue eyes. Other than that, the two children were identical, and seen a twins, just like their mothers. The women fawned over them day and night.

Mira was heavily attached to Lilly, saying she'd be amazingly powerful later in life, being born half dragon, but with black hair as dark as it got. It was amazing, because even my hair only turned fully black when I was awakened, and I was supposedly more powerful than my father.

Well, you know what they say. Children are born to replace their parents, and usually as upgrades.

We started riding out of the city, and rode deep into the Southern Woods, part of what was once known as 'Shwarzenwald', in our continent of Germany.

We reached our first destination, snapping me out of my thoughts. I helped make camp quickly. 'Best get used to this. It's was a ten day trip, one way.'

---

I blinked. "This is it?" I asked. Three days after we'd left, We stood in front of a cave entrance, about 50 feet by 50 feet. "I expected... I don't know. Glowing lights? Actual Portals?"

Mira laughed. "The portal is deeper inside. And it's a portal to hell. It doesn't glow."

I nodded. "Makes sense."

"Get ready. There's a reason humans have never entered the Demon Realm..." She warned me.

I stepped forward, and my body seized in pure, adrenaline-inducing, abject terror. I slowly looked forward, and there stood a being that exuded power so insanely thick and bloodthirsty it made me weak in the knees.

The air around him was colored blood red, and filled with black swirls. He slowly drew a long sword, and I steeled my mind and spine, summoning my spear. I braced myself, and used the rage inside it to power through my fear.

He disappeared, and I leaped straight up, lashing out at his suspected position. Blood flew, and he appeared in front of me as I landed and held my spear in a perfect two handed Earth Stance, breathing calmly.

Mira was gaping at me, and the being touched the blood on his shoulder calmly. It was a tiny cut, but he sniffed the blood, seemingly confused.

He looked at me slowly, and disappeared again. I leaped straight forward this time, swinging my spear again at the center of the feeling of fear.

He was struck again, this time in the gut, and again paused, before taking a different approach. He walked steadily forward, and I laughed. "Bad move, genius." I conjured black fire spears, 100 of them, and impaled him with them. He looked at them oddly, and nodded, continuing forward.
