"Are you sure you want to do this?" Perri asks.

I nod.

"He's your friend too, you know?" I say. "We need to help him."

Perri hops out first then helps me. I'm quite scared. My house is really big and he takes a really tricky route.

"Just follow me..." He whispers.

I wonder what Mum and Gina will think of this? Well...if I make it back before they notice, I should be fine. When we pass Mum's bedroom window we are extra quiet. Perri makes a big jump. I'm terrified.

"Jump." He whispers.

I shake my head.

"Do you want to do this or not?" He says. "Don't worry I've got you.."

I land right into the safety of his arms. Yeah- that's not akward. Why can't we just get back together? Anyway, it's no time to discuss our issues now.

"We'll take your car.." I say.

Just incase Mum realises mine is gone. We exit out of the house safely and as quietly as we can. I take a deep breath when my house is out of sight.

"You, okay?" Perri asks.

"Yeah. Just- keep your eyes on the road..." I say. "It's Mitch and Sam's place, yeah?"

Perri nods.

"...And by the look of it, he's home alone." Perri says.

I start to get a bit nervous. Freddie with a knife means trouble. At least Perri will be there.

"I'm sure he'll listen to me. Don't worry." He says.

"Stop." I laugh.

"What?"

"That reading my mind thing. It's creeping me out."

"I can't. I know you too much. I kind of naturally know what you're thinking."

I smile, before running my hands through my hair. I can't forget the fact that I'm so tired. And I'm wearing a dressing gown on top of my pyjamas with black uggs. I don't exactly look fighting ready. When we can see Mitch's house we pull up quietly.

"I think I see Freddie..." I whisper.

"Yeah, he's got a knife alright." He says.

We get out and I stick behind Perri. Freddie's at the back of the house. Yes- he is screaming like a mad person. I think the neighbours are starting to notice, I mean it's only 12pm. I can barely see anything, so Perri switches on a tiny torch that he has on his car keys. That helps- ish.

"Freddie?" Pel calls. "Freddie? It's Perri.."

I tell Perri not to tell Freddie I'm here. He's probably still quite mad that I blew his cover about the whole drug situation. Perri asks me to stay where I am. I use my phone as a torch but it's practically useless.

"Pel?" I hear Freddie's voice say.

"Yeah- it's me Freddie. Why are you here?"

"I'm looking for Amber. I'm going to find her...and I'm going to get her." Freddie says.

My heart starts to beat fast. He's gone loopy.

"Why?" Perri asks.

"Now my Mum thinks I'm some mad freak. Lucy doesn't even see me as a proper person anymore. She will pay!"

The harshness of his voice makes me jump where I am. I'm just around the corner and I try and remain calm.

"What makes you think she'll be here?" Pel asks.
