Chapter 2 Part 4

I just stand there, with a coke in my hand, looking like a complete idiot. I can see Ashley and Jordan looking at me. I don't think they're happy with this whole situation either.

Perri and Kerry sit at the table while I just stare at them. Did Perri just say he liked her? Perri would never do that!

To my annoyance, they all just keep on talking and occasionally sip their drinks. I keep standing there. Amber...you should move...

I walk back to the table, trying to contain my anger.

"Perri..." I say, with gritted teeth.

He looks up at me, confused.

"What?" Kerry says.

Who asked her to talk? This was too much for me...

"Why did you tell me to come here?" I say to him.

"Just leave him alone." Kerry says.

I shake my head.

"I want an answer..." I say. "Why did you tell me to come here? So you could say you didn't like me?"

"Amber..." Ashley begins. "Why don't you just sit down?"

"No!" I shout.

Perri sighs.

"Amber, just leave..." He says, uncomfortably.

"What?..." I say.

"He said LEAVE!" Kerry repeats, eyeing me.

I look back at Ashley and Jordan. They look down.

What is all this nonsense? Is there something someone is not telling me?

"Fine!" I say, slamming my coke down on the table. "Just don't come to me later saying you need me!"

I storm out. What the hell was that? Why would Perri do that?

What I just said was not true. I need him way more than he needs me, and we both know that...

I get into my car. If it wasn't for people around me, I would have definetly done something I shouldn't have done. Maybe I'm finally becoming sane.

Wait...who am I kidding...I'm no where near to sane.

I need someone to talk to. Someone that will understand. I've already told Mum that I'm at Alex's house. Maybe I'll just stop by Zara's. She's been telling me to come over ever since the whole situation with Lenny.

Lenny...that reminds me...what was all that about him going to see Dr Wyfle? He should have been arrested.

I mean, I don't think he meant to hurt me...okay he did...but I don't think he would have gone that far.

I drive to Zara's house. She told me she was going to be at home today anyway...

I ring her doorbell for about the fifth time. What is taking her so long to answer? Maybe she's not home...

The door opens and I see Alex.

"Hi..." I say. "What are you doing here?"

"Umm..." Alex says. "Maybe we should talk outside..."

"Why can't we talk inside?" I ask, confused. "Where is Zara?"

Alex looks behind her.

"Umm...she's not home..." She says.

"Really?" I say.

"Really."

Okay, she is seriously annoying me.
