~Lydia's pov~Today I was not angry nor was I sad, but I was skipping around completely forgetting about the conversation I had with my father yesterday.
"Lydia?" I heard Gertrude calling for me. "Yes, I am here." I told her to which she went to me. She had a letter in her hand and a unreadable expression on her face, never in my life, have I ever not been able to know what she was thinking by looking at her facial expression. "It is for you." She told me simply. "Thank you." I took the letter and opened it. The letter was addressed to me and it was from Stiles.
'
To my dearest Lydia,I have received a notice from my boss ordering me to go off and take Scott's old assignment over seas. I would like to say my farewells to you face to face before I leave. I do not know how long I will be gone off for, but I will always have you on my mind: your humour, your bright strawberry blonde hair, along with your fresh green eyes, and not to forget your snappy feisty attitude.
Ps: before I leave please come and see me, I would love to kiss your face
With love, Stiles Stilinski.'
I blushed at the end of the letter, but then it hit me, Stiles was leaving. "Aww, you received a love letter." Gertrude teased me. "Lydia, what's the matter?" she asked realising that something was wrong. "Stiles is leaving today and I have to see him now."
I ran out to the stable and Gertrude came along with me and told me to pick out Prada, who was a new horse but was one of the fastest. I took Prada and rode off to the Stilinski Manor house.
Once I arrived there, I knocked on the door very loudly and quickly, wanting to see Stiles. The door opened shortly after, but Stiles didn't open it his father did instead. "Hello Sir, is Stiles here?" I asked him politely, Stiles father looked upset. "He has gone off to the harbour, didn't he tell you he was leaving." I nodded my head and thanked him for telling me and said farewell to him.
I rode off to the harbour which was quite far from the manor house. I tried to ride as quick as possible, I needed to see Stiles. I reached there in two minutes and I already saw that the boat has sailed off. "Noo!! Noo!!" I shouted, this cannot be happening!
I heard a voice behind me asking me if I was alright. I turned around and saw Stiles there, I ran into his arms. "I could seriously kiss you right now." I told him, he smiled at me. "Then why don't you, I will certainly not stop you." I continue to hug him, Stiles was holding me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist, with my head buried in his neck.
I look up at him and smiled; I got lost is his eyes they were beautiful, golden yet chocolate brown, they were truly mesmerising, it was like alcohol making people intoxicated just by looking at. Stiles looked back at me and smiled.
"I will come back to you, my love." He told me in a slight whisper as he moved a strand of hair behind my ear. I smiled and did something I thought I would never do, I kissed him. His lips were as soft and smooth as expensive velvet. Even though it was cold out here, his lips were warm but they left shivers going down my spine. Stiles started to kiss me back and it felt amazing. I was feeling absolutely ecstatic, I was kissing Stiles Stilinski.
We slowly pulled away from our kiss, needing to catch our, but we rested our foreheads together. "I never knew you would actually kiss me." Stiles whispered. "I always thought you would save it for our wedding day." He teased me and laughed quietly, I realised that I just kissed him in public and we are not even a couple.
"Lydia, I will always remember this moment." He told me smiling.
"Would you come to my ball?" I asked, he smiled at me.
"I will not miss it for the world. I will write to you every day and if this trip goes over the ball, I will do whatever it takes to make it." He assured me and with the last hug, Stiles hopped onto the boat and waved to me to which I waved back. "Stiles!" I shouted for him over the sound of the ship. "Yes!" he shouted back.
"I love you!" I shouted it hoping he heard.
"I can't hear you! What did you say?" he shouted. Damn, this stupid loud ship! "I said I love you!!!" I screamed the loudest I could possibly.
"I will miss you too!!! " He shouted over the sound. I waved at him, hiding the disappointment because of the fact that he didn't hear me.
~Gertrude's pov~
I wondered off to the little markets trying to face up to my new fear. However, this time I went to another market. I went and picked up some fruits and vegetables. I smiled and tried to find a good watermelon.
"You should take this one." I turned to find where the voice was coming from, I saw a man behind me, who is giving me a watermelon.
"Hmm.. thank you." He smiled at me, he had dark brown hair and light brown eyes, which I had to admit that it made him rather handsome.
"No problem." He smiled at me and I saw his perfectly straight pearl white teeth. "So can I get a name?" he asked me as I started to walk off.
"Yeah sure." I stopped and turned to look at him. "Bob." He looked rather puzzled. "Bob?" I laughed and told him.
"It's a name, just not my name." I said and he laughed.
"Alright, so what is your name. I am guessing that it will be beautiful, a beautiful name for a beautiful lady." I stopped still and remembered something. "Gertrude." his face screwed up in confusion. "Gertrude? I.. Hmm.. Was expecting a more prettier name."
"Well was is wrong with my name? I was named after my grandmother, who was very beautiful, thank you very much." He chuckled slightly.
"I sincerely apologise, that was rude." he apologised. "No kidding." I walked off to grab a some oranges."Alright, so now if you excuse me, I must get going." I left as soon as possible and went back to the castle.
