Chapter Twenty-Seven

Arashi's POV

I was currently standing in front of Tsunade, she had called me here about 20 minutes ago and hasn't said anything since I got here. I stood quietly and patiently, waiting for her to say something. She sighed suddenly and said, "I have made a decision about Itachi and Hidan."

"And?" I asked, not being able to help being impatient.

"You may take your father and Jiraiya-san and go get them. You must understand though the second they step into the village, they will be taken for questioning and even when they are released they will be under ANBU watch." She told me seriously.

"Where will they live?" I asked.

"They will share a small apartment close to here, so it's easier to keep an eye on them." She answered.

I thought for a second than asked, "Are they allowed visitors?"

She looked at me suspiciously, "Why?"

"Like say I want to spend the night there-"

"Yes. Only you though, I don't trust them around anyone else." She said. "It's obvious that they care about you and wouldn't hurt you, it's just I don't know how they would react to others."

"It's okay Tsuande, I expected that." I told her smiling. "When can I leave?"

"Right now." She snapped and some ANBU appeared next to her. She said, "Get me Kakashi Hatake and Jiraiya."

The guys bowed and disappeared. Tsuande motioned me towards her and I walked up to her and sat on the desk like I always used to with the third Hokage. I pushed the train of thought off the track and asked, "Yeah?"

"Here." She handed me a bracelet and said, "I expect that back the second you get home. It'll hide your chakra completely and make it easier for you to sneak in, if you transform it'll change shape with you."

"I'll be going in by myself, wont I?" I asked as I put the bracelet into my pouch.

She sighed and nodded, "It's the only way, just make sure you wait until you're there to tell Jiraiya and Kakashi."

I nodded and I heard a poof behind me. I turned to them both smiling and asked, "Guess what?"

"What?" They asked at the same time.

"We get to go get Itachi and Hidan! This is going to be awesome!" I yelled jumping up of the desk and fist pumping.

"Tsunade are you sure this is a goo-"

"Don't try and change her mind! That would ruin it!" I yelled at Jiraiya-san.

He laughed and said, "Fine kid, when are we leaving?"

"Right now! Let's go!" I yelled grabbing both their hands and starting to drag them along.

"Arashi!" Tsunade called out. I paused and turned to look at her. She sighed and said gravely, "You've barely escaped once, just- Just make sure you come back."

I smiled at her, "As soon as I get Itachi and Hidan, they'll both protect me their lives....even though I don't want them too.... Considering Hidan's immortal I think I'll be fine." I finished laughing.

She smiled but it looked to be more at the sound rather than the words I had said. She nodded at me and flicked her hand, showing that I could go. I squealed and yelled as I dragged out Kakashi and Jiraiya-san, "See you by nightfall!!"

I dragged both men until we were outside and I asked professionally, "Are you both set and prepared for this mission?"

Kakashi rolled his eyes at me and said, "I think we'll be fine."

I bit back my retort thinking, this is dad, not just another team member.. Then I thought about it and on the mission he was just another team mission. I made a mental note to recognize that at all times once we left the gates. I nodded and asked, "Jiraiya-san?"

He nodded smiling and retch a hand out to set on my head. I backed away dodging and started explaining the mission as I started walking to the gates, them following behind me as if knowing what was happening. I said, "We will run to the Atasuki base, once there we will rest until we are all set to move. While there we are supposed to retrieve Hidan and Itachi Uchiha. I want you both to know that if they are not there, I intend to find them. Our biggest threat will be Pein and Tobi, Tobi is the one that acts like a seven year old."

"Why would we worry about him?" Kakashi asked.

I didn't look back at him, remembering exactly who Tobi really is, as I said, "Because he's more powerful than Pein, even if he refused to show me his true power. He will be the only wild card."

I could almost feel Kakashi close up. Jiraiya-san asked, "Anything else we need to know?"

"Yes, actually. No matter who comes after us, we are not looking for a fight. However, if it comes down to that, you will leave the strongest opponent to Itachi and I, you both and Hidan will handle the rest." I said.

We arrived at the gate and I handed Kotetsu the mission scroll, even though it was blank it still had Tsunades approval on it and that was all we needed. He handed the scroll back asking, "Top secret?"

"Nope, just routine and she didn't feel like writing it all out." I said forcing a smile that he easily believed was real. He nodded and let us all pass.

Once out of hearing distance, Jiraiya-san said, "That was quite a performance."

"Yeah well if we, god forbid, don't come back it will be easier for Tsuande to take care of." I told him detached.

"Is she always like this?" I heard him mumble.

Kakashi said, "We are just her team on a mission, nothing more and nothing less. That's what makes her such a good pick for team leader."

"Let's get going." I ordered, taking to the trees and running at about half speed until they caught up. I asked, "How fast you guys wanna go?"

"Well you told Tsuande we'd be back by nightfall, so it shouldn't be too far. Not that fast I guess." Jiraiya-san reasoned.

"Yeah well when I said a few hours I meant at the pace I went to the village at." I paused, seeing his confusion. I smirked and finished, "At this pace it'll take about three days."

"B- but it took an hour running back to the village!" He exclaimed.

"Yea because we were running for our lives! We were at about triple the pace I used when I first ran to the village!" I exclaimed right back at him. I sighed and said, "Just keep up and make no noise at all, step lightly. The smallest thing could trigger Zetsu's censors."

I picked up the pace, knowing we had one shot at this and one shot only. After Itachi and Hidan tried to leave with us they would both be killed...or dismembered and buried in different parts of the world in Hidan's case.

We arrived about a mile from the hide out as the sun was setting. I gauged the time and said, "They should be eating dinner right about now. We'll eat and then rest, only an hour for both."

After dinner we were sitting around in a circle, conserving energy and rolling our muscles loose at the same time. I looked up at the sun again and found that the time had approached faster than I would've liked. I sighed, causing both of them to look at me, and leaned forward towards them. I sighed again and put my face in my hands, knowing this was not going to be easy for them or for me to convince them.

I felt a hand on my head and a hand on my shoulder, I looked up finding both of them looking at me in concern. I tried to smile but failed. "What's wrong?" Kakashi asked.

"You guys aren't going to like this...." I trailed off. I took a deep breath and said, "Jiraiya-san, daddy, you both have to stay here."

They both were on their feet in an instant and I felt intimidated. I felt the familiar emotion that I had gotten from training with the wolf pack lately, which I could now fight beside, Pride. I stood up quickly and held my head up high as I said, "I was given a direct order to go inside by myself. Now you can either willingly stay here and back me up if I need it when we get outside, or I can force you to stay and render you both useless. Take. Your. Pick." I said the last part slowly, as if every word was a sentence.

"Tsuande told you to go in their by yourself?" Jiraiya-san asked, sounding truly pissed.

"Yes and I will be following that order." I told him stubbornly. I didn't even give them time to think about anything I just started in, "You both will wait in the trees a little ways away from the hide out entrance that I will be using, one that I made during my short stay here. Itachi and Hidan will follow me out without question and we will meet you in the trees if everything goes well."

"If not?" Kakashi asked.

"I will make sure we get outside before turning and fighting, with you both helping us." I told him. I turned and started walking. I paused and sprinted into Kakashi's arms. I said, "Daddy I love you."

"I love you too and I'll see you in a few minutes." He said.

I nodded and he let me go. I said, "Jiraiya-san, I-" I cut off suddenly when I was enveloped in arms. I let out a small squeak but hugged him back.

He set me down and said, "I know kid."

I nodded and slipped on the bracelet before taking off. When I got to the trees I transformed into a rat and made my way across the field and in the entrance that lead to Itachi's room. I walked..ran...scurried?, into the room and looked around finding the room empty but the shower running. I released the transformation and made sure the door was locked before walking silently into Itachi's bathroom. I whispered, "Itachi?"

He opened the shower curtain a little and when he saw me I swear he smiled, small but still a smile. He held up a finger and I nodded. He turned off the shower and grabbed the towel, wrapping it around him before he stepped out. I whispered, "Where's Hidan?"

"Last I saw him he was in your room." I looked at him confused and he said sadly, "He has no one in this place with out you."

I nodded sadly and walked out the bathroom and cracked his bedroom door, after searching for any chakra signatures in the hallway. I transformed back into a rat and stuck to the hallway shadows even if it was only a room away. The door was closed so I scratched at it for a while before the door opened. I quickly got inside and transformed back, shutting the door and turning back around. I was, once again, enveloped in arms and he whispered, "You can't even fucking begin to understand just how fucking glad I am you're here."

"Me too, transform into a rat and Itachi, you and I will use a secret passage way I created." I whispered.

He shook his head, "I can't."

"What do you- Dammit your a Jashinist I forgot there for a second. Just get to the trees where my dad and Jiraiya-San are, make sure no one sees you and we might be there before you." I told him, ordering him slightly at the same time.
