Myles' pov
Well, here we are. Sitting in these God damn chairs, in this God damn building, in this God damn world. Why wasn't I born normally? It's not fair! And when I try to get away from here, I'm punished. Life isn't fair, or right. But, I have to have hope. If I don't have hope, I'll have nothing to hold onto. If I have nothing to hold onto, I'll let go.Those are the exact thoughts going through my mind right now, as me and Briar sit here, being electrocuted and hit. I'm not focusing on the pain like Briar. I'm focusing on what's happening after the pain. Briar seems to think that Abbey is going to save us. But let's be realistic, how is one teenage girl going to get into here without being seen or heard? As much as I tell myself to have hope and faith, I don't believe that it's there. But, I still try, for Briar.
"Please stop! Please! I can't take it anymore!" Briar yells out in pain.
She doesn't deserve this, well no one does, but I have to do something. Constantly seeing her in pain isn't fun for either of us. I can't let this happen, I must do something.Suddenly, an idea springs into my mind. So, I speak up and yell, "STOP! Just for a few seconds, please! I have to say something!"
To my surprise, they actually stop. Briar turns her head to me, a few tears running down her face, but she gives me a confused expression. Dr Jenkins walks into the small room Briar and I are in. Yes, they had glass walls around it with a control room the other side which is where they were. Why not just have it in the same room?
"What is it? Because if it isn't important, then this machine will go on for longer," Jenkins smirks, as he takes a few steps to stand in front of me and Briar.
"Please, hear me out. If you let Briar go, I'll take her punishment. Double the torture I know, but please, don't continue yo punish her," I speak up, biting my bottom lip in fear of his reaction."Myles! What are you doing?! This could kill you!" Briar yells, trying to stop the topic of conversation from happening.
But it's too late, Dr Jenkins looks straight into my eyes and says, "Deal."
Then, he unclips Briar from her chair and she runs straight over to my side. She kisses my cheek, but it only lasts for a second as she soon gets dragged away by the same people who put her in here. "No! Myles! No!" She screams, making the most dramatic scene you could ever think of.
"Shut up!" A male voice yells, one of the men dragging her away.
But she grabs onto the edge of the door with a tight grip, making it impossible for the men to pull her off. She starts sobbing her eyes out, screaming my name as the machine is turned back on."Agh!" I shout as hundreds of painful shocks run through my body.
Yep! This is definitely double the pain! How could something hurt this much?! Being mauled by a bear would be less painful than this! Then I feel a sharp pain against my cheek, the one that Briar had kissed moments before.I slowly turn my head up to see a man standing there with a hammer in his hand. Had he really just hit my cheek with a hammer? Last time it was fists, now a hammer? Ouch! He did it again. I swear, I'm going to die sooner than I thought. Wait, why is Briar still here? She's crying her eyes out by the door, trying to be taken away, but she's staying.
"Myles! No! Stop please! Please! You're killing him!" She yells, standing up and running towards Jenkins, grabbing his collar and pushing him against the wall. Gosh I've never seen anyone in a state as bad as her right now.
"Remove her now!" He yells out, pushing Briar off him so she hits the floor with a hard thump. Ouch! That looked painful! But she gets up, fine, and dashes to my direction.
"Please, half a minute with him! Please!" She cries out, looking at the men who were controlling the machine.Woah, they actually nodded and stopped. They had to stop it, they agreed not to hurt Briar! If they left it on and she touched me, she would've been fried. My head begins to hang low, pain spreading throughout my whole body and I can't move a muscle.
A small hand is gently placed on my cheek, slowly turning it to my left. My eyes are only just open, and Briar pushes her lips against mine. She pulls away a few seconds later, only to gently run her fingers through my hair and feel my, now purple, cheek.
"Myles, I love you so much," she whispers, putting on a watery smile that soon vanishes. "I'll always love you. There's no one else like you, you're amazing. Please don't leave, stay strong." She then places a small kiss on my forehead and says EXTREMELY quietly so no one else hears, "I'm getting you help. Somehow, I'll do it. Trust me. But I don't want to leave you."
"Time's up!" Jenkins yells, smirking and indicating for the two men to take Briar away. His time, they manage to grab her and hold her by her arms, yet she furiously kicks her feet as she's lifted into the air.
"I don't want to leave you!" She yells, even more tears flowing down her face as the men drag her away.Once she's finally gone, the machine is turned back on and the pain shoots through my body. Ouch! This hurts even more than last time! And that was a minute ago! How many volts are going through my body right now? I'm pretty sure I should be dead!
"It's just you now Myles. No one can save you, and no one will," Jenkins says evilly, walking out of the room back to the control panel with the others.
Oh, he's wrong. So here you are! A long chapter! Also, this is my second chapter in the span of four hours, instead of four days. I felt bad for not updating often, so sorry. But here is this to make up for it! This one is over a thousand words, and possibly the most dramatic one I've ever written. Hope you enjoyed it! :)
