"It's nearly 10 degrees out and you want to sit here in a park?" I asked as Trey led me to the entrance of the reknowned Cenral Park.

"It's not 10 degrees out," he corrected.

"It bloody well feels like it," I replied. He gave me a look.

"Can you stop being so dramatic and enjoy yourself?" he asked. I frowned at him. He took a hold of my hand and pulled me close to him. "Here, I'll keep you warm," he suggested, his face close to mine. I glanced down at his lips and then up into his eyes.

"You did this on purpose so that you could touch me," I said.

"You got me. You are just too clever," he said sarcastically as I created some distance between us. I kept my hand in his, though. It was very warm.

"No one's here," I muttered as we walked.

"That was the point," he replied.

"You know why no one's here? It's because it's so bloody cold out," I said. He smriked to himself and wrapped his arm around my waist.

"You know you like it," he said. I smiled slightly and shook my head at him.

It was dark out now. The only light came from the various streetlights scattered around the park. The ground was covered in a thin frost that crunched as we walked on it. Winter was definitely around the corner.

"So how has your break been?" Trey asked me as we walked. I shrugged.

"Boring. All I do is sit at home," I answered.

"Yes, but you have this amazing room," he pointed out.

"It's not enough to keep me occupied," I told him.

"I should have known you would be bored without me to keep you company," he said, a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Please. I'd be bored regardless," I said. He laughed. We reached a bench and decided to sit for a bit. I scooted closer to him and he placed his arm around my shoulders, resting his head against mine.

"So your idea of a first date was taking me to a dinner and then a park?" I asked him.

"Yes," he answered.

"Lame," I said. He tickled my side and I let out a small laugh, nudging him in the stomach. Once we settled down a bit, we leaned against the back of the bench. Trey softly rubbed my shoulders with his hands. Occasionally, he would plant a small kiss on the side of my head.

My body felt like it was lit with an electrical fire at the proximity of our bodies. Every time he kissed my head, it would shoot a jolt of electricity through my veins. My stomach continuously did flips and I realized that I was a little nervous. This was my first date. Not only with Trey, but ever.

I had never gone on a date before. I had always been so busy helping my mother. I was either taking care of her, caring for the house, or working. I had never had any time for personal relationships. And now, here I was, at the tender age of 18, on my first ever date. It was exhilerating, but a little nerve-wrecking at the same time.

What did people do on their first dates? I tried to think back to any movies or television shows I had watched, but realized that real life first dates were probably a lot different than those. I sighed and looked up at Trey who smiled at me, kissing my nose.

"Your cheeks are pink," he noted, his eyes dancing in the lamplight.

"It's because they're cold," I said. He reached out and stroked them, sending waves of warmth through me.
