Chapter 2
The rest of the day passed excruciatingly slowly and I was glad when the final bell rang.
As I walked towards the limo, that had embarrassingly been sent for me, the driver got out and opened the door for me. I sighed as I clambered in hiding myself from the whispers and stares with my hair.
Once the door banged shut I visibly deflated and went to move my fringe from over my eyes when I heard a chuckle beside me.
I shot around to find a smirking Xavier sitting next to me.
"Bad day?" He asked as if he didn't already know the answer.
I gave him a glare then proceeded to find interest in one of my nails.
"Ooh silent treatment hey?" He chuckled to himself, an amused expression in his face, one I wanted to slap right off.
"Shut up." I grumbled to him and turned to look out the window at the passing greenery.
"You know you love the sound of my voice." He smirked at me. "Heck! You know you love me."
I snorted, "Yeah right, in your dreams."
He chuckled. "You bet!"
I made a disgusted sound in the back of my throat then turned away from him.
We spent the rest of the journey in silence and I was glad that Xavier resisted the urge to say something annoying and unnecessary.
As the car pulled up to the big gold gates I stifled a sigh. This wasn't the kind of place I wanted to live. The big gates opened and the limo slowly moved up the tree lined driveway.

'I'm walking on sunshine...whoa, whoa..and don't it feel go-'
The earphone was ripped from my ear and I looked up startled, to find one of the maids, Mary, a woman in her 50s, staring sternly at me.
"Miss Adonnia, I have been knocking on your door for at least 5 minutes! Now, I'm just reminding you that dinner with your highness and my lady will be at 8 sharp."
I sighed and rolled over on my bed, getting of and plopping myself on my window-seat staring out at the meadow.
"Mmm." I mumbled not looking at Mary.
I heard a sigh then a click, I turned my head to see the door shut and Mary gone.
I sighed again, turning back, leaning my head against the cool glass. I put my earphone back in my ear and changed the song, I definitely did not feel good and was far from walking on the sun, I was the farthest away ever possible.
What a way to dampen my mood, spring something like dinner with the parents on me.
There was a knock at my bedroom door. I got up from the window-seat, where I had been sat listening to music for the last half hour and went curiously to see who it was.
Martha, another of the maids stood there holding a dress, she had an apologetic look on her face.
"Sorry." She winced. "Queens orders."
