I was brushing my hair over and over in the mirror trying to knock the doubtful thoughts out of my head. I was dressed in a normal black and white suit without the tie and Jordan's instead of the dress shoes.

Abelle said she wanted to meet at Vivace, one of the most classy, paparazzi filled, restaurants in the city. I was pretty freaked out about the thought of going somewhere the people I hated the most in the world were going to be.

The paparazzi ass holes were always saying some shit about me and they were so predictable that I already knew that tomorrow Abelle and I would be on the front page of every magazine. And to make it worse, behaving isn't exactly something I'm good at, so who knows what's going to happen with Abelle today.

I grabbed my phone and wallet and climbed into my black Escalade to bring attention away from me like I usually do in my yellow Lambo. I put the key into the ignition, turning the key I roared the car to life and then pulled out and started down the street.

I was sweating so hard I was damn near staining my clothes with sweat. I knew it couldn't have been the paparazzi that I was just nervous about, maybe it was this whole thing with Abelle. I had pulled up to the restaurant and was already considering turning back around.

I could see her sitting closest to the back of the restaurant playing with her cup of water with a worried look in her eye. I was at least thirty minutes late - on purpose - and I knew it would be another ten until I worked up enough courage to actually go inside.

I squeezed my hands around the steering wheel and laid my head back onto the headrest. "C'mon Chris, C'mon," I whispered to myself. "It's just one date. What're you scared of?!" I started taking deep breaths and smacking myself on the head. "Just go!" I sighed and jumped out of the car impulsively and made my way inside the restaurant.

As soon as Abelle saw me, her eyes lit up and she stood up to greet me. I smiled a tiny bit, happy to see her happy to see me and wearing something the old her would wear.

A dark periwinkle strapless dress that stopped at her knees along with a skinny chocolate brown belt around her waist. She had gold hoops in her ears and her hair was straight down her back.

"Hey," she said hugging me. I wrapped my arms around her and let her kiss my temple like she did the day before.

"I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up," she stated as we sat down. Shiiiidddd, I was thinking about it.

"I'm a man of my word," I replied picking up my menu.

"How are you?" She asked clasping her hands together.

"I'm good," I answered. I glanced up at her and smiled a little wider than before, "I like your hair like that."

She combed her fingers through her burgundy locks and blushed, "thanks. I like yours like that too."

"If you don't mind, I ordered for you already," she said taking the menu from my hands.

"You did what?" I questioned raising an eyebrow. I doubt she even knew what I wanted.

"Relax I knew what you would have a taste for. Some shrimp scampi and angel hair pasta noodles, steamed broccoli, and red wine," she said reading me like a motherfucking book as usual.

"I hate when you do that," I snarled.

"Do what?" She inquired knitting her eyebrows together.

"Read my mind and always know what I'm thinking," I explained. She leaned her head back and howled with laughter clapping her hands and all.

"I could say the exact same thing for you!! You always know what's going on in my mind. You always know what I want you to say and what I don't want you to say. You always know what makes me tick, exactly what to say to piss me off, and what makes me happy. And you always surprise me when you do that shit," she replied with big eyes.

"Well damn I always feel like that's what you do to me," I agreed. We laughed together loud and obnoxiously like we were talking about the funniest thing in the world.

"AND YOU'RE ALWAYS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!!" We exclaimed simultaneously. That made us laugh even harder and louder looking like two ignorant ass negroes in that fancy restaurant.

When dinner was over I walked her to her car and even though there was some paparazzi following behind us, I managed to ignore them and continue talking with Abelle like we were the only people in the world.

She leaned against her car and smiled at me tucking some hair behind her ear. I grinned back and a paparazzi suddenly yelled "Kiss her!" I rolled my eyes and Abelle laughed. I was getting heated by the second, but Abelle did something I wasn't expecting. Something I hadn't felt in a very long time.

She placed her small hand softly on my bicep and pecked my lips ever so gently I felt a light chill radiate through my body. I could hardly stand up at that point; my knees had turned to jelly. My heart was pounding and I was in a daze but I was calm, equivalent to the feeling of being high.

"Can you guys leave us alone now?" Abelle asked in that soft voice of hers. They scurried away with their cameras and I looked at her like she was insane.

"How did you do that?!" I inquired in utter shock.

"Chris, you're always so mean to them and that's exactly what they want from you. They want you to look like a monster so they can put you on the front page, but now all they can talk about is how sweet you were tonight and say that I'm your new girlfriend," she explained with a sweet smile. I couldn't believe that it was just that easy and that she was so right.

"I have school in the morning and I gotta get home... But I had a great time with you," she said pulling out her keys.

"I had a great time with you too, but before you go I wanna give you something," I replied. She looked up at me with her eyebrows knitted together and just before she could say anything I kissed her. I kissed her hard and long slipping my hands around her waist and pulling her body against mine.

She pulled away biting on my bottom lip and then exhaled staring down at the ground. I wanted to kiss her again desperately, but she wouldn't look at me. Did I do something wrong already?

"Call me tonight okay? I'll see you later," she said lifting her head up. She was blushing and turning redder by the second. She tried her hardest to suppress her smile as she looked at me, but she gave it all away. She was extremely ecstatic to have gotten that kiss and we both knew it.

"Aight I will," I replied winking at her. I kissed her one last time and then made my way to my car. I felt like dancing, I really did. I had the worst butterflies and I felt like I was walking on air, I just wanted to dance in circles and scream "AIN'T NO WOMAN LIKE THE ONE I GOT!!" Until my voice is shot.

- Abelle

Driving down the street didn't even feel like driving down the street after that, I felt like I was soaring through the sky on a cloud. He kissed me! And it was a REAL kiss not like all the other ones we had, it was REAL. It was like college... Wow.

When I got home, it was pretty dark out but I felt like the world was brighter than it could have ever been. I unlocked the door humming one of my favorite love songs and kicked my shoes off inside. Before I could take another step, the smell of weed assaulted my nostrils.

"Belle!!!!" A voice yelled. I looked through the smoke filled air to see that Aubrey was standing in the hallway with his arms out and a blunt between his lips.

"Hey!!" I exclaimed running towards him. I jumped into his arms and squealed like a little girl on the first day of school.

"I missed you!" He shouted twirling me in circles. He put me down and then blew some smoke from his blunt. I coughed and waved the smoke away feeling a little disrespected.

"Your hair... Your clothes... You look different," he said looking at me up and down.

"Yeah..." Was all I could say. I suddenly felt self conscious and almost embarrassed.

"Your hair is cool, but why you change your style? I liked the way it was before," he stated.

"I was falling off with staying true to myself so I made some changes," I answered scratching my arm nervously.

"Oh, so this was you before I met the new one?" He queried.

"Yeah," I answered biting down on my lips nervously. I couldn't tell if he liked it or not and I couldn't figure out why I cared.

"Oh..." He replied handing me the blunt.

I swallowed the temptation down and shook my head, "No thanks."

"You don't smoke anymore?!" He shrieked cocking his head back in horror.

"Nah..." I said with a shrug.

"Drink?"

"Not as much,"

"Party?"

"Every now and again,"

"Strip clubs?"

"A little less than I did before,"

"Damn! You seeing my worst enemy AND you changed!"

"Hold on a second, where did you hear that?"

"Everybody knows about you guys at the studio, at his house making out in his pool, all that,"

"So you mad?"

"Not as much as I was before, but don't bring his ass out here. I'm not playin either,"

"Okay... I wasn't planning to,"

"So he that nigga you was talking about on the Skype?"

"Maybe,"

"That's where you been all night?"

"Possibly..."

"Damn, I thought we were friends,"

He turned and brushed past me. He started out happy now he mad at me? That fast? I turned and followed him.

"Yeah, best friends!" I said with my hands out to the side. "Don't act like that."

"You know how I feel about you, Abelle. That's what is making me angry," he replied.

"Aubrey, it's not like I decided to see him to piss you off. I've known him much longer than I have known you. My feelings for him have been here with me even the day I met you. It would be different if I fell for him the day you told me your feelings," I explained. He rolled his eyes and blew the smoke in my face again. I tried to choke down my annoyance and not smack the shit out of him for being so disrespectful.

"Look you're lucky you not some hoe, you lucky you different cuz I would kick you out right now, but you're not. So don't bring him around here. Don't let that nigga in this house, matter of fact don't let that nigga take a step off the curb how about that?" Aubrey snarled in my face.

My eye twitched, "Aight."

"I'm goin out. See you whenever," he said as he put his jacket on. He made his way out the door with the blunt still between his lips and then slammed the door shut. I could see this whole situation going wrong in a matter of days...
