You hadn't been dating him for long but you knew something was off. He was becoming more distant and acting strange around you. Instead meeting you with a passionate kiss and a spinning hug it was just a peck on the cheek and simple hello.
You sat at a restaurant with your boyfriend of three months sitting directly across from you. There was a heavy silence between you both. He fiddled with his napkin and you quietly took a sip of your water, you hadn't your ordered food yet. It was incredibly strange, something was definitely wrong.
"So, what's up?" You said trying to break the incredibly awkward silence.
"Um... Sorry, what?" He replied nervously, his head flicking up from the napkin as if he was distracted by his thoughts. You reached over and gently rested you hand on his.
"There's something wrong, what is it?" You said calmly, you acted calm and collected on the outside but inside you were a mess, thoughts raced through your head at a million miles an hour, doubt strangling you to death, his silence was unbearable.
"Y/n..." He began pulling his hand away from yours rubbing the back of his neck, "how do I start this?" He whispered to himself. He took a deep sigh.
"Y/n, I don't really know what to say. I don't want to lie to you and say that you weren't the reason this is happening, I feel that it was both of our faults."
At first, you were confused but as he went on realisation hit you and anger begun to build up inside. Tears filled your eyes, you felt like you were being choked when you tried to speak.
"Cut to chase... Don't fool me around..." You muttered to yourself, you wanted to say it out loud but you couldn't bear it. He must have heard you because he continued to say, "Y/n I don't love you anymore, I feel a deeper connection with someone else."
Your anger level had reached its limit and was overflowing. You had gotten dressed up and spent hours doing your hair and make-up for him to tell you that he had cheated on you and was breaking up with you. "So you cheated on me!" You screamed at him, you stood up abruptly making your chair scrape loudly across the restaurant floor. Suddenly he stood up as well,
"Y/n it wasn't my fault!" He yelled at you.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean, are you saying that you just accidentally hooked up with some other chick!" You were both making a scene, everyone in the restaurant was looking at you but you didn't care.
"No! I'm saying it's not my fault that I don't love you. You hardly ever get dressed up for me and when you do you just the most awkward person to be around. To be honest with you y/n I never actually loved you and now that I have found someone that I do love, you just won't let me go!"
You went to throw another insult in his face but you couldn't, what he was saying was so hurtful. You were never that clingy and I always got dressed up for him, you can't help being an awkward person because that's the way you are. You took a deep swallow.
"Ok, that's ok," you said to yourself calmly. "Well, you don't have to worry, I'm out of your life now. You'll never have to be in my awkward presence or have to look at another one of my obviously inexpensive dresses." You said calmly and sarcastically to him, the restaurant was so silent now that even the people at the back of the restaurant could hear you speaking to him. You turned and walked away, and just before you left the restaurant you turned around to face him, "and by the way that girl, Jessica that you feel a deeper connection with. She has a boyfriend and do not go telling me that they broke up because five minutes ago she tweeted a picture of her and her boyfriend kissing so good luck."
You walked out of the restaurant, turned and left. You stood outside of the building next door and sunk to your knees, how could he do this to you? You saw it coming, though. He was distant and was always busy with his 'friends.' Did he really mean what he said? Did he really think that you didn't look nice? You knew that you were socially awkward but was it that bad that he felt embarrassed going out in public with you? Were you that much of an unlovable creature? You began to feel distressed, heavy tears rolled down your face and you started to sob loudly. People walking passed were looking at you but you didn't care, your heart had just been torn apart.
You noticed three men walk out of the restaurant they looked to be around your age. They were all chatting, probably about the massive scene that just unfolded only five minutes ago. You looked up and recognised the three men to be your all time favourite YouTubers: AmazingPhil, danisnotonfire and Kickthepj.
