Just Friends (Phil Lester x Reader)

Part 2 - Cab Ride

This was so exciting yet in a way embarrassing, you looked away and attempted to quiet your sobbing so not draw attention to yourself. But it was too late they had already seen you, all three of them walked over, surrounding you in a semi-circle.

"Guy's are probably the last people you want to speak to tonight but, are you alright?" Pj said as Phil put out a hand to help you get up.

"Yeah, I'm fine." You replied, wiping away your tears with your sleeve.

"Oh, ah!" Dan said snapping into reality, "do you need a tissue?" He continued pulling out a crumpled tissue from his pocket.

"Dan, don't give the girl a twenty-year-old used tissue from the depths of your pocket, we are trying to cheer her up not bring her down with old pieces of tissue. I'm Pj by the way." Pj said holding out his hand. You smiled trying to conceal your inner fangirl.

"Nice to meet you Pj," you replied shaking his hand. "And this is Dan", Pj said pointing to Phil. "And this is Phil", Pj continued pointing to Dan. Both Dan and Phil gave Pj deep glares, and you giggled a little, Pj realised his mistake and went to correct himself but then all three boys looked at you with a confused expression. You were confused as well and then you realised that you had giggled at Pj's mistake before you actually knew their names.

You gulped and said, "Oh, yeah sorry. I watch all of you guys on Youtube, but it's finally nice to meet you in person, well I guess not exactly like this but, you know. My name is Y/n by the way." You began to feel nervous when the boys didn't say anything, good job you had just met your idols and now they not only think you have anger issues because of what happened inside but now they think you're a crazy fangirl.

"Y/n..." Phil said to himself, "that's a beautiful name." You blushed a little, "thank-you." you replied.

"Well, it's great to meet fans," Dan said relieving the awkward silence that had fallen after Phil's compliment.

"Yeah and I don't know about Dan and Phil but I like to do whatever I can do for my subscribers for helping me get this far," Pj said enthusiastically.

"Hey, don't shove us under the bus," Dan said lightly punching Pj in the shoulder. "Yeah," Phil said backing up Dan.

"Well, it's not my fault you're both socially inept," Pj said playfully to Dan and Phil putting up his hands as if to surrender. You giggled at the little verbal war that was erupting between the boys. Suddenly they all stopped, as if only now realising you were still here.

"As I was saying before Dan interrupted me, I like to do what I can for my fans. Do you need a ride home or anything?" Pj continued. You began to blush insanely for some strange reason.

"No, I couldn't ask you guys for a ride home, especially a free one since I don't have any money. I can get myself home," You replied.

"Are you kidding me? You're joking if you think we're gonna let you take the tube by yourself at this time of night," Dan said sternly.

"No, really I couldn't ask you guys for a free ride."

"You're coming with us," Phil said intensely, which almost frightened you since he had been so silent this entire time. Fear must have covered your face because Dan went on to say;

"Don't scare y/n off like that, we're trying to convince her to come with us for a safe ride home, we're not some mob gang kidnapping her," Dan said sarcastically to Phil, "now y/n your not asking us for a ride, we're offering you a ride. Now come on."

You knew that they weren't gonna give up, but you felt guilty for some reason. As if you were taking advantage of their kindness.

"Please y/n, please come with us," Phil begged, he was so child-like when he did this, it was adorable. You couldn't say no to a pleading Phil.

"Ok, I'll come," you said looking at the ground.

"You're coming?" Pj inquired.

"Yes I am," you replied.

"Yes!" Phil shouted triumphantly, jumping in the air. Dan immediately facepalmed, while you giggled at Phil's childish wonder.

"Well come on then!" Phil said taking your hand and dragging you to the cab that Pj had obviously already called while Dan slowly followed behind. You got into the cab with the three boys. You sat squished in between Dan and Phil while Pj sat at the front next to the driver. You told the driver where your apartment was, he nodded and drove off.

"Wait, isn't that like around the corner from Dan and Phil?" Pj said excitedly.

"What do you mean?" Phil, Dan and you all said in unison.

"Y/n where you live. Isn't that near Dan and Phil's apartment?"

"Um, I don't know I never see them," you replied.

Both of the boys thought intensely for a moment going to the address in their heads.

"Oh, yeah, Pj's right!" Phil said even more excited than before.

"That's strange how I've never seen you guys around," you said, shocked by the fact that your idols had lived around the corner from for the last two years or so and you hadn't noticed or even seen them.

"I'm not surprised," Pj said, "Dan and Phil never leave their apartment."

"We do too!" Phil whined. "Peej is right Phil," Dan said admittedly. Pj laughed, "yeah, Dan your sofa crease is so deep that I'm pretty sure that China can see the other end of it." Everyone laughed completely agreeing with Pj's comment.

"So, y/n where do you work?" Phil inquired.

"Just at Starbucks, but since I just finished uni I'm going to get another job in the near future. I'm only at Starbucks to pay the bills."

"Wow, it's super weird I've never seen you before," Phil replied surprise gently laced through his voice.

You laughed a little, "I'm not, I work the early morning shifts." Then you sighed, "come to think of it I have work tomorrow."

After some general chit-chat about yourself and the boys. Phil gave Dan a strange look. You couldn't tell what it meant but then Dan nodded and gave Pj a similar look, motioning to Phil. Pj also nodded and started to have a conversation with you. You knew that Pj was trying to distract you from what Dan and Phil were doing but you couldn't help but look over as to what was going on literally behind your back. Phil and Dan were giving one another incredibly weird looks and mouthing things to each other and every now and then you noticed Dan pointing at you.

What are they doing? Why are they doing this? You were getting very nervous now.

Then the cab driver stopped out the front of your building, Phil had to slide out so you could. When you'd both gotten out of the car you gave Phil a big hug and said, "Thank-you so much, I owe you guys big time!" At first, he flinched and then he hugged you back. You pulled away, "oh, I'm sorry I..." Phil cut you off, "no it's alright." He hugged you again to signify it was truly fine. Then as he pulled away he slipped something into you hands, "I hope to see you around," he said getting back into the cab.

"Thank-you so, so much you guys, I can't thank-you enough! Bye!" You said to them as the cab drove away.

You unlocked your apartment and flopped yourself on the couch. You were strangely happy for a girl who'd just been dumped by her boyfriend. You opened your hand to see what Phil had put in there. It was a piece of paper, it said:

You smiled and went to bed the happiest dumped girl alive.
