chapter seven

"Are you sure you want to go to Phil's?" PJ asked me, glancing down at my unbinded chest. He knew just how self conscious and dysphoric I was normally, and he's constantly trying to make sure I feel okay.

"Yeah, I'm sure. He already knows about my thing, so it shouldn't surprise him," I said softly, looking through my drawers and getting out a bra and a different shirt. PJ turned around, allowing me to put on the bra, but fail miserably as usual. "Hey, Peej, could you help?" I ask him, trying my hardest to hook it at the back.

He turned back towards me, and I turned my back to him so he could help.

"Thanks," I said, laughing a little bit.

"No problem, buddy. Are we going to walk to Phil's? Because if so, I want to have a backpack full of drinks and stuff. It's hot as hell out there."

I slipped into my shirt, looking outside. "I mean, I guess. It may be hot, but it seems really nice."

"Just like me?" PJ asked me, striking a little pose as I turned around.

"You know what? Sure. Exactly like you, Peej. The resemblance is uncanny," I said, laughing. "Anyway, bird-head, go get the backpack ready. I'll be down in a minute."

"Oh come on, I brushed my hair, Dan. You're never going to let my bird hair go, are you?"

"Obviously not."

"Fine. Be quick, Dandelion."

After searching through my drawers and eventually settling on skinny jeans to wear as bottoms, I brushed out my hair and straightened it in the bathroom as quickly as possible. When finished, I slid down the railing on my stairs and jumped down to find PJ sitting on my couch, waiting.

"Ready, birdie?" I asked, walking over to him and pushing him a little bit to make sure I got his attention.

"I've been ready for a while. You took so long," he replied, making a dramatic fainting motion.

"Whatever. Get up, we're going."

With a lot of groaning and sexual noises, PJ finally successfully stood up, and then we were off.

"Knock knock!" PJ yelled loudly, after practically banging down Phil's door.

"PJ, we haven't even been here for a minute. Give him a few seconds."

After a moment or so, Phil opened the door. His hair was messy, and he was only in shorts. He looked like he had just woken up. He wiped his eyes, blinking a few times.

"Oh, hey guys!" he said cheerfully. "Sorry I look like a mess. I'm not fully awake yet," he said, smiling and laughing for a second.

"You look fine, Phil," I said, somewhat having to resist the urge to stare. "We came to hang out with you, but we can come back later if you want?"

"What? Oh, no! It's fine! Come on in," he answered, moving to the side to allow us room to walk in.

PJ went in first, me following right behind him. Phil closed the door behind us, following us as we found our way to his living room. "Do you guys want something to eat? Drink?" he asked as we sat down.

"You're too nice to us, Phil. I can get my own drink, you don't have to," I said, beginning to stand up.

"But here's the thing: I want to," he replied, putting his hand on my shoulder and smiling at me. That same warm smile that he has every time he smiles, where if he opened his mouth it would be the widest smile ever.

I laughed softly. "Okay. Fine. I'll just have some water, I guess," I told him, looking over to PJ.

"I'll take anything," PJ added, also laughing a little bit.

"Okay. I'll be back, then," Phil said, turning around and walking to his kitchen.

Author's Note: Alright, here it is. Might as well end it here so that I can begin the next chapter with a time skip to later, eh? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. I love you all. Peace out. Stay rad.
