Sabrina sobbed, "Wake up! Wake up! Please! Please!" The girls moved her away as Adam and I just stared at him.....dead.

He was my friend, a good one too. He cared for us, and wanted what's best...so I'll do the honor of carrying that wish.

Moments later we gathered up what little things we had and left. We were almost to Minnesota....almost.

"My stick is unbreakable, why did it fail me? Why did it break? Why di-" "-Why don't you just shut the fuck up?" I scolded Adam. I was sick and tired of his whining and stupidity. Sure he's book-smart, but you need to be street-smart in order to survive.

A bunch of negative emotions builded up inside me.....anger, sadness, depression...."Ahh!" I stopped, closed my eyes and looked down. I'm sure everyone else stopped too because I heard no footsteps. "God, please give us the strength and will to survive this nightmare, please," I prayed. Then I opened my eyes and continued walking as I brushed passed my friends. I could tell they were scared, I don't know of what exactly. Shortly, they started following me.

I still felt sore, I'm good at walking long distances but this time I wasn't cutting it. This time I just felt like collapsing onto the ground to be left for dead.

Soon we came across a highway, we were entering Minnesota. No one has said a word in a long while. All of a sudden I realize that I'm going to a mansion that belongs to the grandfather of my friend, my friend that I yelled at earlier. I realize that I'm acting mad for nothing. I realize that I don't deserve to be saved the easy way.

I stopped and took a deep breath. "What's wrong?" Jenny asked. "I...I can't go." "What? Why? What are you talking about? "I don't deserve it....I can find another way...I can-" "- No! That's crazy talk, so what? You deserve to die?" she was actually yelling at me for the first time. "Look, I can really do this, I've handled myself well on my own. I can find some shelter and food. You guys go on ahead and-" my statement was completely interrupted when Jenny grabbed onto my shoulders and kissed me deeply. "Oh shit." I heard one of my friends say. I felt surprised and shocked. She let go of my shoulders and lips and looked at me with a straight face. Everyone was quiet, and I was just standing there with a loss of words....confused. I'm sure she wasn't drunk. "Uh....what was that for?" She didn't say anything, she just pulled on the collar of my shirt and half-dragged me back into our journey. The rest followed quietly.

All that was running through my mind was, "What the fuck?" Sure I enjoyed the kiss but.....it was so confusing and surprising, and now she made it awkward. "Uh......wh-why did you do that?" A bit of time passed until she finally responded, "For motivation."

"Uh....motivation?" I said very confused. "Yes, motivation. I don't want you running off leaving us behind for dead." I still didn't understand.....gosh girls are so confusing. I didn't really want to keep on this conversation, but she looked at me and smiled.

As we walked my face just warmed up a whole lot. Shit, shit, shit, shit; don't blush! Ahh! Obviously she knew about my face and all that crap. God I need to get used to all this.

A moment later, we saw a rusty, old, red truck moving in the distance. A few of us started jumping up and down waving but was that really the best idea? What if that person was some sort of thief or psycho? Then again we're all outlaws now, meaning we're all thieves and psychos.

Eventually, the truck came in our direction and stopped in front of us. Out of the lowered window we saw an old country man. But we heard lots of growling; then saw a sack in the back of the truck bouncing up and down.

"You kids need some help?" the man asked. No one spoke until I went ahead, "Uh actually no, but thanks for the offer." The man looked at us a bit then replied, "Well alright then, take care haha." Then he drove off laughing. There was a tied up zombie in the back. "Crazy fucking redneck," Sabrina scowled. No way were we riding with him, we all can't even fit in the truck. Hell, who knows? Maybe we'd end up getting our limbs chopped off and fed to the undead.
