"Advancing for a modern me is a better me..." -Paris Vaughn

Three months later...

Paris rocked back and forth, swaying her head side to side as Rihanna's Only Girl (In The World) played in her earphones.

She was laying up in bed listening to her favorite artist's old music. She loved Rihanna's new work, it brought out the emotional side of her, but the pop side was still there.

Old songs such as Love Without Tragedy (Mother Mary), Jump, Farewell, Get It Over With, No Love Allowed, Right Now, What Now, Where Have You Been, Lost In Paradise, and Half Of Me, were her all time favorites.

While being pregnant, there are certain things the doctor needed her to stay away from, such as the nail polish fumes at the shop. She was able to work in the back and front of the store in her clothing store but she couldn't step one foot into her nail salon.

Over the course of time, she's left Carmen in charge of the nail salon while Danielle took charge over the clothing store only until further notice.  Catching up on life, getting to know her father's side of the story, reading new and rereading old books, writing now poetry, praying more, and just keeping in touch with the ones who love her.

She's learned to let go and let God handle things instead of her taking negative action. She needed to cut back and let him handle things, or else she would be in danger of causing harm onto herself and her family.

Her and Malcolm could no longer risk things and was remaining as careful as possible.

Looking at the time on her phone, she turned off her music and unhooked her Beats headphones from her phone and around her head. When she was in school taking Physical Science, she learned that it was a danger to plunge earphones into the deep roots of your ear just to hear the base in your earphones.

It was less air travel and more access to becoming deaf within a few years of allowing it to continue. It also explained as to why every time she would take them out after a long period of time the inside of her ears would ring and begin to hurt.

"Five minutes to eight, you ready to go?" Malcolm asked, walking back into their room.

"Yeah." She responded tiredly. She had been up since five that morning, due to their son kicking her all day long.

Only way to settle his kicks was by reading to him and listening to music, and even humming and walking around the entire house.

Their new house had enough passageways, rooms, and backyard space to be able to walk around wherever and whenever she wanted to.

"Come on, I know you sleepy but she waitin' on us." Malcolm grabbed Paris's hand and her purse.

"I'm just glad ya' son finally took his lil' ass to sleep." Paris responded as they headed down the stairs.

"He just like you, love to stay up all damn night." Malcolm chuckled as they got to the bottom of the staircase.

"Well, he needs to be like you. Love to sleep all the time and can easily do it."

"He been fussy today?" Malcolm asked.

She shook her head and they walked outside. "No. He kicked me for a good hour and left me alone. But I couldn't go back to sleep after that."

It was eight in the morning and their son, Maureece, had yet to settle down while being in the womb for another week. Paris was officially nine months pregnant and couldn't be happier that the pregnancy was ending, and her son would soon be welcomed into their wonderful home.
