Jake ( Not Jake Mason )POV*

"Alright everyone, bring the wounded to the infirmary, most injured nearest the entrance!" Jake instructed.

They had just arrived back at their base. While life threatening wounds had already been treated, some people needed to be under constant surveillance, and people with minor fractures had to be taken care of as well.

"Need a hand, or are you good?" Someone asked behind him.

He turned. "Uh, hey Raven. Nah, I'm fine. Unless you really want to help."

"It's not like I have anything else to do."

The two of them went up to someone with a broken leg. They hadn't been seen about it, so Jake moved it back into place, gently as he could, but there was no escaping the inevitable pain or a fractured limb.

If there was one thing Jake couldn't do, it was apply casts. So he called another healer over to finish up.

"Raven, can you cut up some bandages?"

"Hmmm, I don't know...." She smirked.

"Pwetty pwease?" He put on his puppy dog face. It soon melted into a smile, matched by Raven.

"Oh alright. As you asked so nicely."

Mia POV (2 hours later)

"Well I still think you should go. I mean, they probably don't even remember my name!" Mia said again, trying to get her point across.

"Well fine," Willow said from the other side of the table. Her brown eyes sparkled. "We'll go, and you and Kelsey can do the reshuffle."

"Let's not be hasty...."

"Oh now you want to go," Bella said, amused. "Honestly, reshuffling isn't as difficult as you think."

"Let me guess. It's harder." Mia put in.

"Pssshhh. I didn't say that." Bella grinned.

"Well, put it this way. The two options are : Stay back, rest and move the groups around a bit. The other option is go to a meeting." Raven stated.

She paused. "Actually, putting it like that, reshuffling sounds quite appealing."

Mia looked at Kelsey. She herself had never done a reshuffle, but Kelsey had. Many times.

"Staying back means I can avoid Mia more." Kelsey mused.

"That is a good point."

"So you're staying then?" Willow questioned.

"Yep." The two of them said in usion. They both went bright red.

"Alright. Just don't kill each other while we're gone."

Willow, Bella, Jake and Raven left the room.

"So I'm gonna go... um.... eat something." Mia said, standing up.

"Right. I'll go and,uh, check in on the nursery."

They both left the room and ran in opposite directions.

Mia strolled along the winding corridors. Well, they didn't really 'wind', but oh well. A yawn escaped her. She looked at her watch. It read 11 o'clock. But that meant.... no, surely they couldn't have gotten back at nine... but she supposed it had been kinda dark.

She headed for the dorms. Most people had already done the same. Easy to tell, since she wasn't being crushed  in the crowds.

                                <><><><><><><><><><>

The dorms were essentially just rooms carved out underground. Same as the rest of the base, being underground. Everyone had a surprising amount of privacy. 'Rooms' were cornered off by thin material walls, like those used in Japanese bath houses. Each 'room' was approximately four metres by three metres. Each was furnished by a fold up bunk, a desk and whatever personal items the occupant chooses to put there. It went without saying that boys had separate dorms to girls.

Mia slid her door open, and shut it behind her. Her pictures were still on her desk, untouched. One was of her and Jake when they were little, by the waterfall in Hushcore, their home town in Wales. Jake's coal black hair was sopping wet somehow. They'd only been there for a couple of minutes.

Another was of Danielle, her childhood friend. She was standing next to a tree, which they had often climbed and pretended they were spies. Mia smiled from the memories.

Swinging her bed down, she flopped onto it, not bothering to change her clothes. Within minutes she had drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

Jaz POV

"Sadie are you kidding me?!"

"Oh for gods sake you two, shut up!"

Jaz groaned and turned over in an effort to shut out the arguments. She was currently trying to get some sleep in her room. She had hoped people would be quiet, but no such luck.

As if it couldn't get any noisier, there was suddenly a really quite loud explosion.

That woke her up. Of course it did.

"Sadie!"

Jaz ran down the stairs into the main living area. Smoke rolled of the sofa.

"What on Geb's green earth happened?" She questioned.

"Well... err..." Sadie mumbled.

"What Sadie is trying to say is that she 'accidently' exploded the sofa." Carter said, rolling his eyes.

"How do you 'accidently explode something?" She looked pointedly at Sadie.

"You see, it's all about the timing -"

"Just no."

"I'm gonna go get like, a bucket of water or something. Heck if I know." Sadie said after a while.

She started walking off, but nothing is ever simple.

She decided to explode the doorway.

Sadie jumped back in surprise. "What -"

"You're asking us?" Carter replied, looking baffled.

"I should probably just stay still before I blow anything else up,huh?"

Currently, Jaz was confused. Obviously Sadie hadn't meant  to cause the explosions, but why else would they have happened? Things didn't just explode.

"Oh my freaking gods!"

That was Sadie. She'd exploded the floor this time.

Jaz sighed. This was going to be a long night.

So... Sorry it's late in the day. I completely forgot I was going out today! So yeah, see y'all Dragons.
