The Festus Chronicles

Leo's return

Leo POV

Leo pulled up to avoid crashing into the mountain. Calypso yelled something he couldn't hear.
"What?" he called.
"I said," Calypso called back "Do we even know where we're going?"
"No" he admitted.
He scanned the horizon. They had to land soon so he could fix Festus. Flying for a day non-stop couldn't have been good.
"Do you see anywhere we could land?" He asked Calypso.
"There!" she replied, pointing to a field to the east. It seemed as good a place as any. He turned Festus towards it.
'It's gonna get bumpy." He warned Calypso.
He was right. As they desended, Festus shuddered and flailed desperately.
Leo cursed in ancient Greek. He pulled a wire in the dragon's head to try and jumpstart him.

It seemed to work. Their fall turned into a slightly controlled desent. Still, when they hit the ground they still fell off.

"Oof," he said "Get of my leg"
"Sorry," Calypso said ,untangling herself "Any idea where we are?"
Leo scanned their surroundings.
"Well it's pretty warm," he said "So probably in a warm place."
Calypso rolled her eyes. "Ha ha. I meant as in a city or country."
"Well in that case," he replied "I have no idea."
Calypso sighed. "Well let's head into the town then, and figure out where we are."
"Maybe get some food." he added.
"How did I guess you'd say that?" she said in esparation.
" You must be physic."
"Ha ha"

He stood up.
"Let's go," he said. "Perhaps there's an umbrella store too, because it's going to rain soon."
He stated at the grey clouds forming.
"What's an umbrella?" Calypso asked.
"Umm," Leo said "It's a short metal pole with canvas draped over it- ahh never mind"

"Well let's get going anyway." Calypso said. "We're wasting time."
"Yeah." Leo agreed.

The two of them started walking towards the dim light of the town.
