Thalia POV

The Hunters ran across the fields swiftly. Thalia led them, glad to be out of the cavern and in the open.

Travelling allowed a lot of time to think, and she planned to take full advantage of this.

A white wolf ran along next to her. It was Connie, the wolf that had been with her at Pikes Peak. She'd always felt close to Connie for some reason.

Thalia didn't quite get why the MoonRunners were called MoonRunners. Neither Artemis nor Selene was their patron Goddess, they couldn't be since they didn't have one. So why?

None of them were actually sure. That knowledge was aparently destroyed when they lost influence in the olden days. The closest theory was that some Hunters had disagreed with Artemis 's rules and started a separate branch, but that didn't make sense. According to the legend, only a small percentage of them could actually even hold a bow right. Surely if they came from Hunters they should all be able to use bows. Duh.

A/n Yes I've switched back to the she/he/they writing style. It just seems more natural.

Connie leaped up and locked Thalia 's face.
"Ugh, Connie! I already washed today."
If wolves could grin, Connie certainly did.

Everyone suddenly halted. Looking around, she could'nt see why. There was nothing exactly wrong and they hadn't reached the meet - up point yet. Then she looked up.

"Oh Styx."

Ha ha I'm so cruel.

Willow POV

Willow rode behind Raven. For some bizarre reason Nima absolutely adored Raven and would have done anything for her. Kinda like the dragon version of Star.

The fighting had taken it's toll. When they got back, a reshuffle was in order. Most of the groups had lost one member at least.

That meant none of the lieutenants could go to the meeting.

Thus they would have to send Mia and Kelsey, their default backup.

Kelsey was good for the job because she'd known Willow and Bella since they'd joined. None of them kept anything from each other. Not even painful memories.

Mia was the only other logical choice as well because being Jake 's twin sister, she got told most things.

So yes, they were a good pair to send.

Even fool proof of not for one thing.

They couldn't stand each other.

If left in a room together for any length of time, they would come out beaten up from arguments that got out of hand. They knew that from experience.

Okay maybe that was a bit of an exaderation. But still.

"Hold on!" Raven yelled suddenly. It effectively shook Willow out of her thoughts.

Nima suddenly dipped into a dive. Her wing had been bent into a weird angle.

Most likely the same thing that did that decided Willow needed a wash in ice cold water. Unfortunately for Jake, it missed and hit him instead.

"Ooh!" Jake said "That's f - freezing! "
"No shizzle Sherlock." She calls back.
Weapons have already been drawn. Bella swipes at something. Her blade connects, but obviously this thing does not care much for adamant. When Bella swipes again, it is gone.
