This is the second part for Moment of Truth that I just made awhile ago. I hope you guys will enjoy!
-Kai"H-Hi guys. I haven't seen you guys for a long time."
"Yeah, [Name]-chan. Where were you? After first year, you suddenly disappeared, we couldn't find you anywhere and we couldn't contact you!" Makoto asked as [Name] shifted her weight awkwardly. "Oh I got dragged along into my father's job. The company he was working for would love him to be brought to one of their branches in Tokyo and so he doesn't want to be alone, therefore, I went 'missing'." Nagisa sighed, "[Name]-chan, you know you could've call—"The sound of a falling tin can interrupted Nagisa from speaking, all eyes fell on the sound. "Rin-chan, you're back! Aw you wasted a good can of soda. We're complete now! [Name]-chan is back and—" "[Name]. You're... You're actually back." Rin took small steps forward, his hand reaching out to the girl he lost. "Rin. Hi." Was the only response of [Name], her once open personality had faded once Rin showed up, she closed in and wanted to hide.
Rin held her cheeks, his other hand holding her arm, his hand stroking her cheek so soft it was as if she's so fragile that if you hold her the wrong way, she'll break into pieces. "I-I... Wow. Y-You're..." Rin chuckled in embarrassment, "You're really really pretty. I, I mean... You've grown into this. Like. Wow, I d-don't know what to say. You became even more prettier I—" Rin reached out to tuck a strand of [Name]'s hair but instead of continuing so, she flinched and looked away. "[N-Name]? Do you wanna take a walk?" Rin suggested, bothered that a lot of them are intently watching the two of them reminisce the old times. [Name] sighed, pondering on the thought before nodding.
Rin thought there was no backing down now, [Name] had just told him that she's going to leave in 30 minutes since her father's going to pick her up. And by now, they were just walking aimlessly and Rin knew he was wasting time. The uncomfortable silence is lingering through them, Rin wanted it to stop. "[Name]?" Rin finally spoke, trying to make up the years they lost. The [h/c] girl only hummed in response, her eyes locked towards the sun setting sky across the horizon.
"Where were you?" Rin asked, "Tokyo." Again, the uncomfortable silence empowered the place. Rin wondered why was it so hard to form a conversation with her now, "[Name], how have you been in Tokyo?" "Good. You?" "Australia was great. It gave me new experiences." "Oh."
[Name] wanted to let Rin know that she is not in fact feeling good, all alone in Tokyo. That she's not feeling well being away from the people she loves. But [Name] couldn't just ruin his dreams for her own selfish ones.
"You still pursuing that dream of yours, right?" Rin asked, "Uh-huh." And by now, Rin clicked his tongue. He wanted to hug her, to let her feel loved again. But he couldn't, mostly when he let go of her for some stupid reason, and that he forgot about her when it seems like she hasn't.
"[Name], why are you so distant?!" Rin exclaimed, glaring at the girl who was walking side by side with her who seems unfazed by his tone of voice. Like she knew it was going to happen. "Why'd you left me hanging when I was expecting you?" Rin had his mouth open, trying to formulate an excuse of what happened.
"You know Rin, I expected to have a girl running by your side and hugging your arm and smiling and telling you she loves you." [Name] stated "Is that what you think of me? Easily to replace you?!" "No. But I did thought of that because I would've done that if you didn't let go." "[N-Name]..." Rin wanted to cry, hold her close and just never let her go. But the world doesn't work that way, he needed to face the truth. And whatever she's doing right now, just staring at the sky, her eyes seemed so distant, she's looking beautiful.
"You know, I was never the one to call you first because I know you would be the one to, you would talk about your day, listen to mine and just laugh about anything. But you suddenly lost, so I tried to call you, wrote you letters till my hand was sore, but no reply. I just thought that... It was over. I didn't expected that. I mean look, a first year girl, getting a letter from her crush saying he wants to meet her in the holiday to confess something and end up being together, would you dare to say the love-strucked girl that nothing lasts forever? That nothing stays the same?" [Name] said, finally looking at Rin. And Rin had nothing to say. His teary eyes, threatening to fall salty waters to his cheeks. He never knew he made her feel this way.
"Rin... You're gonna go to a good college, be an Olympic swimmer, and with all that success, you'll forget about me. Like you did before, but it doesn't matter now. Because I want you to be happy. Cheesy, I know. But I would love to see all my friends happy."
Friends.
Rin just stared at her as they were walking, they both stopped and looked at each other. "Rin, I'm going to America for college. Long distance relationship wouldn't work, we already had done that. It's not gonna work again. I'm staying there to pursue my dreams, and I want you to stay in Australia. Where we both truly belong, apart from each other." [Name] knew she's making the right decision for her future, but not for her life. She was slowly, little by little, breaking into a million pieces, letting go again the man she truly loves.
"Rin, listen, I have to go now. Dad will be seeing me in a while. I'll see you soon." [Name] stated with a soft smile plastered on her face before walking ahead, leaving a Rin behind, who couldn't help but give up and cry. No. Not again. He's not going to let her go again.
"[Name]! Wait!" Rin yelled, running after her, grabbing her arm in the process and pulling her towards him. Embracing her feels like time stopped, his tears falling to her sweater, and due to hugging her, [Name] couldn't help but cry also. "[Name]... I'm sorry. Please. Please never leave. Never go. I'll stay if you stay." Rin faced her, "Y-you can come with me in Australia! It will be wonderful, we will live together a-and we will go to school together and we'll live happy! W-we'll go back here if ever we want to—" "No... No Rin, please... You're making this harder for us." She shook her head, trying not to approve of it. She wanted to try so hard to not to approve.
"[Name]... Please... I still love you. I love you, I really do. Please, don't let go." She couldn't possibly let him go again, can she? Or can she just leave him behind? What else could happen? Tears were streaming down [Name]'s face as Rin held it, looking at her so deeply. He pressed his forehead to hers, having a whiff of her scent. [Name] forced to open her eyes to check out red orbs right in front of hers.
"[Name]... Can we start over again? You and me?" Rin asked, waiting patiently for her answer. "You and me."
This is quite long and probably so bad. I'm so sorry if it's bad! It's 2 am here and I have something to attend to later. But I hope you guys enjoyed it! -Kai
