When the wind calls

Chara felt a cold breeze on his face while standing on the big field outside the village. It was already fall. His life never changed that much in only one year. It was like he had lived in many different universes. First he lived in a regular universe, then in the perfect universe where he lived together with Jessica, his former psychologist who had adopted him, and now a whole different universe where Jessica didn't exist anymore. He tried to think about different ways in which he could have prevented Jessica's death. He still didn't accept it. Beyond the fields he saw woods in the distance. Behind these woods there was a mountain. Maybe he was going crazy but he heard the wind calling him.
A few days ago his classmate Amy had invited him to her house. They've finally come to terms with each other. She now assumed the role as his only friend. At Amy's house they watched cartoons and movies. Her room was exactly the regular girly room anyone would expect her to have. The walls were pink just like the furniture. Amy's mother let them eat a lot of unhealthy food and even let them alone at home. Amy took this as an opportunity to get closer to him when he was giving her drawing lessons.
- So when you draw the face I recommend you to start with a circle. - Chara said while holing Amy's hand from behind and moving it so that she would draw a circle. - Then you do these lines that are going to help you when adding the featu... -
But something stopped him from finishing the sentence. He felt a strangely good sensation on his lips and Amy's face was really close to his. After 5 seconds she moved her head away.
- Wha..wh. uh... Uhm... A... - he struggled when trying to put together coherent sentence. The pink on his cheeks turned into red and spread across the whole face.
- Say something! - Amy said tsundere-like.
- That.. was.. well.. unexpected? - He said embarrassed.
Chara finally had had his first kiss and he couldn't really understand what was going on in his mind. Sometimes he felt like he was floating in the sky and sometimes he felt so anxious that he wanted to run away and never be seen again by Amy. When they brought Chara back to the orphanage the first thing he did was taking a very cold shower. He had a disturbing and funny dream that night involving Amy.
He remembered this event when he was out in the fields and smiled a little. Right now he needed to be alone with the nature. It was not because of Amy but because of everyone else. His whole world seemed to have fallen apart and Amy was not able to put it back together. In fact nothing would be able to do that.
The wind was calling him again. He took a few steps farther from the village. He quickened the pace when he felt the cold breeze again. The woods were getting closer. He ran and felt the breeze on his whole body. He wanted to get as far as possible from the village at least for today. He wanted to be part of the nature for once and forget about humanity. He wanted to forget about his parents, about Jessica, even about Amy. He would only be a burden for her anyway. When he was finally inside of the woods he fell to his knees. He leaned against the nearest tree and cried desperately. Sinking his face into his knees which were shaking violently didn't help much. He cried louder producing echoes and hoped that the wind would hear him calling back.
After he calmed down a little he stood up and rubbed the dirt off his pants. Slowly he walked deeper into the woods. The trees were already losing many of their leaves. After a while he didn't know anymore which direction would lead him back to the village. But honestly he didn't want to know. He just wanted to keep going. There were fewer trees now. After walking a few more minutes he found himself at the other side of the woods. He was staying before a huge mountain. There was a narrow path on the mountain. Without second guessing he followed the path. At every step he took he got higher above the ground. Soon he needed to look down in order to look at the highest part of the trees. He kept walking on the mountain looking down at the trees. The path took a curve leading him inside a cavern. He felt wind coming from inside of the cavern. With the desire of discovering where the origins of that breeze were he finally went inside. When walking further inside the cavern he found out where this wind came from. He stood before a huge hole in the ground.
Whatever was calling him, he wanted to meet it. If he went back now he would keep living his normal life. He didn't belong to that world anymore, to that methodical meaningless world where he'd be alone for the rest of his life, a world where he'd be surrounded by the wicked who ruined his family. Amy might not be wicked but even around her he felt alone. He was not able to be there, by her side, with his mind and spirit. She was better off without him and he was better off without everyone. Maybe the wind would give him an answer.
He felt the cold breeze again. He thought for an instance that he heard Jessica's voice. What if it was her? He wanted to find out. He had nothing to lose anymore.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He was ready to erase himself from this pointless world. Slowly he leaned forward. He felt his feet slowly leaving the ground. The vine that was stuck on his left foot disentangled. His feet left the ground entirely. He felt the cold breeze on his whole body while he was falling. He was certain that this was the last thing he would ever feel.
Bam.

Chara had various distorted visions of people who had been part of his life. His deceased mother and father, the evil woman with the ugly birthmark who had been his caretaker, Jessica who was his psychologist, adoptive mother and best friend before her premature death and finally Amy. Certainly he was dead and about to pass onto the next level or whatever it was going to be. But all of a sudden he felt horrible pain through his whole body. He was unable to move, every single spot on his body hurt so badly. He opened his eyes and found himself on the ground. There was light coming from the hole where he just fell a few seconds ago.
I am alive?!
He couldn't believe that his life had been spared. In all honesty he wished that this fall would've been merciless with his life. He tried to lift his head to take a better look at his surroundings. He was clearly in an underground cave.
"It sounds like it came from here..." he heard a childlike voice say. He quickly moved his head towards this voice. He saw the silhouette of a childlike creature. It stepped into the light and it revealed itself to be a creature with white fur. It had a green shirt with yellow stripes and black pants.
"Oh, you've fallen down, haven't you..." - he said. Chara looked at him astonished asking himself what that creature was. It was certainly not human. Could it be...?
"Are you okay? Here, get up." - The child pulled Chara. He put Chara's arm around his shoulder. Chara felt a lot of pain but he still tried to stand on his legs so that it would be easier for the child to carry him.
"Cha..."
"Huh?"
"Chara... my name is Chara."
"Chara, huh? That's a nice name. My name is Asriel.
