The Asylum

Chara spent the whole day lying on the couch watching cartoon or reading his book about Monster history that he stole from his old orphanage. He was thinking about telling Jessica about the book but he feared she would laugh at him. He was already on page 879.

His adoptive mother Jessica rushed to the asylum she worked at.

She arrived and she saw that the place was surrounded by many people. There were policemen, villagers and a few employees from the Asylum. It seemed to be a mess.

"We still didn't receive a response from the government, you'll have to wait." A middle-aged man with brown short hair said.

"Sorry Doctor, but we have orders. You'll have to talk to the mayor about that." A tall policeman said who didn't really looked like he had any care in the world about the asylum.

"I'll call him. Ah, Mrs. Parker, just in time!" Jessica joined the other asylum employees in the crowd to defend the institution. She would never give up on those patients. The employees tried to defend themselves from the insults that the villagers were throwing at them.

"Stop defending these demonic creatures. It's about time that this madhouse is demolished!" An old man said.

"What could be more important than treating our patients?" An asylum employee said

"Patients that are never going to heal? Just send them back to hell already." A young woman with black hair said. Jessica recognized her. She was one of Chara's caretakers.

"Finally! Mr. Mayor, we are trying to get the patients away from here as fast as we can! But please, we need more time!"

"48 hours."

"What?!"

"48 hours and the asylum is going to be demolished. I already hired the company that is going to construct the new mall."

"A.. a mall?!"

"See, my business associates are going to break the deal and stop helping me sponsor this construction. I have delayed it for too long already. 48 hours, have a nice day Doctor." he hung up.

The man now called his contacts from the government that were supposed to help him relocate the patients. "Yeah, we'll need the documents of all of your the patients, Doctor. Please bring them here or mail them to us. We'll see what we can do." These were the only words he needed to hear. Though it was unlikely that this would have results after only 48 hours. He picked up all the documents he needed and let Jessica in charge before driving to the city (there was no working computer in the asylum).

Meanwhile Jessica tried to reason with the villagers.

"These are people that need treatment. Go back to your homes please and make yourself useful to this village. We're taking care of this situation."

"Ey lady, you don't even live in this village, stay out of this." the old man said.

"Yes, but I work here and I'm trying to make a difference. What are you doing?"

"She's so protective of them because her 'son' is one of them." The young woman said. Jessica was heavily insulted not just because she offended Chara, but also because of her huge ignorance. Then she realized something: People treated him bad at the orphanage because they probably thought he was mental. She wouldn't argue with extremists though. She calmly walked into the asylum to take care of her patients. The discussion and insults stopped and the villagers went home.
