After about ten minutes of silence we finally arrived home, right as I walked in I felt a huge hit of nostalgia. The scents of pineapple and mango hitting me in the face like a baseball bat. It was so nice to be home, in the place were I had grown up.
Our house was rather large. My step father made pretty decent money and when his parents died about ten years ago he inherited all of there money. It was a sad but sweet story, his father died of a heart attack, and his mother died five months later of a broken heart.
Even though my family is pretty rich, my step dad and mom agreed to have me work for an apartment back in New York to teach me responsibility, so I didn't have to rely on people my whole life, and honestly I agreed.
There are three floors to the house, the basement, the living room area, and the upstairs with all of the bedroom and bathrooms. I went upstairs to bedroom which is at the very end of the hall on the left, right next to the guest bedroom.
There wasn't really anything left in room, since I had taken most of everything to college with me. In the left corner was my old day bed with a quilt I had made in high school for an art project, and next to my bed was a small bay window seat, with blue pillows on it. Above my bed was a huge purple dream catcher with blue feather and beads hanging off, and to my left next to the door was a white dresser with a mirror attached to it.
Yep that was it, that's how my room remained. I looked at myself in the mirror, examining the small zits on my chin when I noticed the black lip stick print was still on the corner of the mirror. Oh fifteen year old me and my short lived goth phase. Red highlights in my hair, black nail polish, black clothes, only listening to rock music, and I mostly stayed in my room, and when I came out to see the family I was usually pretty snotty.
I placed my bags on the ground next to my bed and figured I'd unpack later since I was to tired to do it now. I went into my closet and pulled out my old grey radio, and plugged it in. I turned it on, it was on the exact station I had it on when I left home two years ago. One of the most popular stations used in L.A, i leaned against the wall as I looked out the window on the other end of the room, while When I Come Around quietly played through out my room.
I then heard Frank walk in (My step dad) and start babbling to my mom about work. I walked out of my room to go greet him. Frank and I got along pretty well, I've known him since I was eleven so I'm used to him by now. He's a good man and treats my mom like a man should treat a woman, and treats me almost like his own daughter and I treat him almost like he's my blood related dad.
I started down the hall when I felt something, well more like someone wrap there arms around my legs. I looked down to see my little sister giving me a huge smile with her long dirty blonde hair was hanging in front of her face, with a silk pastel pink night gown on, and with what looked like Cotten candy all around her mouth.
"Lu Lu!" She shouted as I picked her up.
"Look how much bigger you've gotten since the last I saw you you, you're so old" I said.
She giggled and hugged me tighter. I began to swing her around in circles when I suddenly bumped into someone. "Oh sorry" the male voice I didn't recognize said. I turned around and saw him, this must be the boy that's staying with us.
I studied his face for a moment. He was without a doubt very attractive, with dirty blonde hair that was sorta in a bowl cut, and these beautiful piercing blue eyes, and he had a very handsome jawline. He was tall, a few inches taller than me, and wearing an oversized mustard yellow sweater with jeans.
Then I realized I was just standing there looking at him like and idiot. "Um... uh no sor-ry it was my fault, I wasn't uh looking at where I was going" I stuttered.
Both ends of his mouth curved into a smile. "You must be Lucy" he said putting his hand out to shake mine, hm, how formal.
"Yes you're correct, and I'm guessing you're Leonardo?"
He nodded and smiled again. "You can call me Leo"
"Oh- ok" I said nervously smiling. I get very nervous around cute boys, but I suppose every girl does. I always never know what to say and just pray to God that I don't embarrass myself.
"Well it was nice meeting you but I need to get downstairs. I'll see ya around"
He nodded and with that he turned and walked right past me into the guest bedroom. I didn't really know how to feel about him. I definitely didn't want to start crushing on a guy that's going to be living with me for the next three months, that would be torture. But wow he was gorgeous. It was a weird feeling I had about Leo, it felt good but at the same time it scared me. I wasn't about to fall for another guy I don't have a chance with.
Sorry the chapter ended kinda weird, I just didn't know what to write and wanted to get this chapter published soon. 😘
