Summer Break (A Leonardo DiCaprio fanfic)

Chapter Seven

I was awoken to the sound of someone lightly knocking on my bedroom door. I slowly parted my eyes open and looked to see my mom, Frank and Madi all standing there holding a breakfast tray with pancakes stacked miles high, with bacon and sausage on the side.

"Awe you guys!" I tried to say with excitement even though my voice was pretty groggy.

"Happy 21'st birthday!" They all three tried to shout at once but it sounded out of place. I hadn't have had this done for me since my sixteenth birthday. I could already tell they were going to attempt to make me feel like a princess today.

I smiled as they laid the tray on my lap. "Can I sit with you?" Madi asked with her slight lisp. I nodded as she jumped up on the old day bed with me and went to grab a peice of bacon.

"Listen, tonight just the three of us are going out to eat then coming here to open presents alight. The place is pretty fancy so spiffy up" my mom said with a proud smile as Frank picked up my moms camera to take a photo of me, in which I threw my hands in front of my face and laughed.

They both walked out of the room as Madi continued munching on the bacon. "Are you going to stay here forever?" She asked out of the blue. I knew how much she had missed me from what my mom told me. And how for the first two weeks of me being gone she cried every single night before bed, and had to wear one of my old tee shirts to bed.

I gulped down a drink of chocolate milk (which was my favorite) and sighed. "No... I'll be leaving in a few month Mads, but I'll visit as much as I can"

She looked down at her hands covered in dry green and pink finger paint and stated through her cracking voice "but I miss you so much Lu Lu"

I placed my hand on the back of her head as I intertwined pieces of hair through my fingers. "I miss you way more, but I won't be leaving for a while, aright?" I said as she nodded.

"Leo will miss you too" she said.

"Why will he miss me?" I asked with slight laughter because obviously she was making this up.

"He said so"

My eyebrows lifted as I looked down at her. My heart began to beat just a little faster.

"What? When?"

"This morning when he left he said sorry I'll miss her birthday but I'm busy with Kristen"

I felt that little glimmer of hope that he had feelings for me leave. "No, see what he meant is that he's missing out on my birthday today, not that he'll miss me when I leave" I assured her as I stuffed more pancakes in my mouth. She nodded and buried her head into my side as I ate, thinking about Leo. Why couldn't I get him out of my head? Maybe it was because he was gorgeous, funny, smart, sweet, talented, I could go on forever but there was just something about him.

And then I thought to myself, wait who's Kristen? I began to feel jealous. Well maybe it's like an agent or something. No I doubt it. But I couldn't think of him right now, I need to relax and enjoy my birthday.
