Summer Break (A Leonardo DiCaprio fanfic)

Chapter Three

I made my way downstairs to find my mom already slaving away in the kitchen. It looked like she was making pasta, which was my favorite.

"Well looks who's here!" Frank said in is loud roaring tone of voice.

I smiled and leaned into hug him. Frank looked a lot like an older version of Bruce Willis, but I little chubbier.

I hopped onto the red barstool and leaned against the counter. "So I heard you talking to someone up there" my mom asked.

"Yeah... I literally bumped into Leonardo"

My mom turned around to me as her eyes lit up. "Isn't he a cutie? What did you guys talk about?" She said a bit to over excited.

"Well not much, we sorta just introduced ourselves, that's all"

"Oh... Well I'm sure you two will get to know each other soon enough" she said going back about her business.

"Speaking of boys, are you seeing anyone at school?" Frank asked. He was a bit over protected when it came to dating.

"Not at the moment, I don't really have time to be dating with my studies and balancing work"

We all sat and talked for about thirty minutes before dinner was ready. Then my mom called down my little sister and Leo to come eat.

We all sat around the big cherry wooden table and began eating after saying grace. "So Leo are you seeing anyone at the moment... y'know uh dating?" My mom asked, I flashed her a rude look and she ignored it. I knew what my mom was doing, she was playing match maker, she wanted me to meet a nice boy to love me and take care of me.

"Well uh at the moment yes and no, our relationship is complicated" he said looking a little embarrassed.

My mom nodded and continued eating. There was an awkward silence in the air that made everyone uncomfortable. "So Leonar- I mean Leo, uh when did you um.. decide you wanted to be an actor?" I asked with all of the courage I had in me.

"Well I guess I always knew I wanted to act, but probably when I was around eleven, twelve is when I started trying out for stuff"

I smiled "that's good" is all I could think to say, I was so nervous.

"What about you? What do you go to school for?" He asked to my surprise.

"Nursing, yeah I've always liked helping people so I thought nursing would be a good choice"

"That's awesome" he said taking another bite of spaghetti.

There was another moment of awkward silence until Leo said that pasta was his favorite and complimented my mom on it.  "Oh thank you! This is also Lucy's favorite so we decided to make it for her on her first day back"

It was obvious that my mom was trying to get Leo to like me, and it was embarrassing, it needed stop.

I finished my bowl quickly "can I be excused I'd like to take a shower" my mom nodded and I went upstairs.

Later that evening

I stepped out of the shower onto the mat and stood there with the towel wrapped around me, freezing cold. It was so nice to shower back home, not have to share the room with twenty other stalls and worrying about peeping toms, and the water was always cold.

I dried off and put on a pair of red cloth shorts, with an oversized green sweat shirt that covered over my shorts along with knee high white socks. I started walking down the hall to go check on Madi, to see that Leo was in her room playing Barbies with her!

I chuckled to myself and right when I was about to turn around Madi caught me. "Lu lu come play with us please" she said elongating the "s"

I walked in and squatted down next to her. It was so funny to see Leo sitting across from me holding a Ken doll, and in the other hand a pink my little pony. He stayed quiet as he watched my little sister babble on about the story line of what they were playing.

"Here" she said handing me a Barbie. "This ones for you because you look like her"

She was correct, I did look like her, we both had dark brown hair, olive colored skin and she dressed her like me, which was usually pretty casual, kinda like Rachel Green.

I laughed and began going along with their game. It was really fun actually, Leo was hilarious the way he would play with the barbies and make them act and speak, I couldn't contain my laughter. As for me being very shy, I didn't really try to be funny or witty so I stayed pretty bland.

It was honestly kinda cute whenever he would start making his doll talk and then he would start snickering and then we would both break out into laughter. We would laugh so hard we would fall over to the ground. It was weird how I barley knew this boy and we were already bonding, maybe we will get to know each other like my mom says... only time will tell.
