Long Lost Love

Chapter 28: last chapter

Me and Liam had already been in LA for a week and time flew by so fast! We had seen the Hollywood sign, gone shopping, and seen about any tourist thing you could imagine. Today was our last day on the break before we gotta go back to tour.

Liam told me we were going to go out for lunch and then he had a surprise. I swear this boy always has something planned! Since it was just a casual day I put on a blue & white striped shirt with my shoulders exposed, and some small light colored shorts. I slipped on my white converse and then grabbed my purse and headed out. I went downstairs and saw Liam in khaki shorts, and a blue& white plaid shirt.

We got in the car and eventually arrived at a nice little cafe. Liam knew this was my favorite place to eat in the area. Smiling widely I got out of the car and said, "You always know how to spoil me don't you?".... Liam came by side, wrapped his arm around my waist and said, "Of course! You're my princess, so I'm gonna treat you like one!" .. I blushed as we found our seats and ordered. I got a simple chicken salad while Liam got a chicken salad croissant. While eating we just talked about our trip! "So have you had fun on the trip?" Liam asked while smiling. I returned the smile and answered, "Yes! It's been great getting to see everything with you! There's never a dull moment when I'm around you!"   I swear I saw Liam blush, but before I could say anything his phone rang. He quickly got it out of his pocket and said, "I'm SO sorry Maddie... I have to take this... Do you mind?" I shook my head no and he got up to talk outside.

I was sitting there for probably 10 minutes before he came back. I didn't wanna say anything but it kinda annoyed me. Liam sat down, "Sorry it took so long! It was for work"... I nodded. WOW, I'm a jerk. I shouldn't be mad at that. "That's completely fine Li! I understand!".... We finished our meal and once again were on the road.

"Liam? Are you gonna tell me where we are going?" Without making eye contact, Liam simply said "I'm not telling you, Maddie! I never do!"... I sighed knowing he was right. After about 30 minutes, we pulled up to a beach house. What? Liam walked around and helped me out of the car before leading me inside. He turned around and said, "I figured since it's our last day we could spend some time here! I had someone bring our stuff earlier." I was speechless. I simply just ran up to him and hugged him tightly. For the first hour we were there we watched a movie, just relaxing. It was going to be a marathon but then Liam had to leave for some "Business" reason. I know he's a busy man but it's his break.... It's Terrible.

--------couple hours later-------------

It was getting dark so I went up to our room we'd be sharing and saw a note. Wait what? I went up and read it:

Sorry babe. Forgot to tell you about the second surprise! I'm not gonna tell you what it is but I laid out an outfit for you as a hint.

I looked on the bed to see a teal-colored bikini, a white tank top, another pair of shorts and sandals.
I shrugged and changed quickly into my outfit. I went to the bathroom to do my hair & makeup to find yet another note.

Now that you're dressed, to the next step. Once downstairs you'll find a glass door leading out to the beach. Find it. Xoxo

I laid the note down, then walked quickly downstairs. IM SO ANXIOUS! I walked over to the familiar glass doors and the third note:

Final step! Outside I have laid pebbles making a pathway..follow the pathway to see the surprise!

I opened the door, spotted the pathway and began to follow it. I looked around and it was so beautiful. The sun was just setting and it cast on the waves. It was perfect weather. I continued walking for about 5 minutes, and what I saw at the end of the path caused me to tear up. There in the middle of the beach, was a table set for two. Rose pedals & candles were spread all around it. I walked up to it, covered my face with my hands and cried. I stayed like that until I felt hands move mine from my face and held them. I opened my eyes to see Liam, in plaid swim trunks, and a blue polo shirt. I smiled, he knows I was never the one to want fancy things.

"L-Liam? You did all this for me?" I asked tears still in my eyes. He wiped them away with his thumbs before answering, "Of course, Maddie! I love you and I wanted the last night to be special!".. I smiled as he lead me over to the table, pulling the chair out for me to sit. I gladly accepted, and he went to sit across from me. We sat there for a few minutes before I see Louis walk up dressed as a waiter. WHAT? He quickly said, "Dinner is served." before sitting two plates down and a bottle of wine.
We began eating our food and once we were done Liam excused himself. I was confused until I heard my favorite song off their last album, Little Things. I turned around to see Liam with the other boys, Cami, and Haley behind him singing. I walked towards him, and as I did his solo began.
He grabbed my hands, looked me in the eyes, and sang every word to me. It was the sweetest, and i felt tears brimming in my eyes.

When the song ended, I was constantly wiping tears from my eyes. I got quiet when Liam started talking.

"Maddie, I remember the day when Louis said we were going to meet his long lost twin sister. I didn't know what was going to happen or if I was gonna like her...but everything changed when I saw it was you. I fell in love with you from the minute I sat beside you on the plane that day. I was so nervous to speak to you but decided to take a chance. It was love at first sight. The way you sang without caring what anyone else said. How nice you were to a complete stranger. Your laugh, your eyes, your smile, your personality, and the way you treated me like a human. Most people I meet just like me for my money or fame but you...you liked me as Liam Payne from Wolverhampton not Liam Payne from 1D. I knew you were a fan, and didn't know how that would turn out. But I'm glad I talked to you that day because you're the best thing that has happened to me. You're the reason I smile everyday, you're the reason I can be myself, you're the one I sing to every night, and you're the one who makes me the happiest man in the world."  I started bawling my eyes out when he got down on one knee..."We've been dating for about a year and a half now, and I'm already head over heels in love with you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you... Madison Taylor Tomlinson, will you marry me?" ... I nodded yes, not being able to speak. Liam slipped the GORGEOUS ring on my finger and stood up immediately kissing me. When we pulled away I hugged him, and we exchanged simple "I love you"....
