Song Of The Chapter: Say It Ain't So by Weezer

Simon attended to the piles of irrelevant paperwork at his mahogany colored desk, waiting anxiously for the boys to arrive. He was exhausted from the night before, having to deal with rumors and lies of what went down at Louis Tomlinson's wedding. As much as he didn't want to, Simon planned on yelling some sense into Louis and Harry. To make things less harsh, whoever, he would speak to them as a whole group - even Liam and Niall. More than often, he would speak alone with whoever got their ass into a problem, but Simon was not in the mood to deal with them one-on-one. He figured having them together would be simpler.

Simon was moody and tired, and those two just happened to not work hand in hand - even more so when you had to lecture someone.

There was a light knock on the door, but Simon purposely almost didn't answer.

"Come in," Simon raised his voice.

Four boys strolled in, and waved a hello. Two of them, in particular, kept their heads low sheepishly.

"Boys," he greeted, "I've requested you here to have a little chat about life."

"Listen, I was just there for the chicken and potatoes; I'm innocent, I swear!" Niall shouted and threw his arms up.

That earned a quiet chuckle from the boys, but a poker face from Simon. On most occasions, the man would laugh, but today he was not in the right mood for mockery. Instead, he sighed and rubbed his eyes hard. Niall noticed his annoyance and mumbled a small sorry.

Then, a lightbulb went off in Simon's head. Instead of wasting his time lecturing the boys, he'd make them feel awkward. Awkward to the point that they wouldn't make the same mistakes.

"So, how do you boys feel about homosexuals?" He smiled, but his smile was far from happy. It was more of a sarcastic smile.

The other four boys glanced at each other. Each raised an eyebrow; it was the most out-of-nowhere question they'd ever been inquired. Not only that, but nobody just casually asks a question like that. People don't always politely answer.

"Well, hm?" Simon urged.

Niall, Liam, Harry, and Louis all struggled to form answers and when they did it was all jumbled together.

"Nothing wrong with them."

"They are who they are."

"Great partners in life."

"No reason to hate them."

"I hear they're extremely fashionable."

"Mhm, what he said."

"And how would you feel if a man came up to you and violated your lips?" Simon said sternly. He was getting more annoyed each second, because those damn boys couldn't get it through their thick skull that being overly close in public was not okay. It was never okay.

The boys stared blankly at him. Harry and Louis were unknowingly, simultaneously thinking the same thing. If it were Louis, Harry would kiss back. If it were Harry, Louis would kiss back. It was nearly impossible to deny.

"Don't you understand what I'm trying to get at!" Simon snapped and slammed his hand down on the desk. The boys were taken back by the sudden outburst. Simon groaned and rubbed his eyes again. This time, he said more calm, "Look, all I'm trying to say is that you have to be more careful about who you're with in public. Sometimes, we just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Try to be more cautious in the future, alright?"

The boys nodded then stood up. Simon only needed a few minutes of their time to talk to them. He was happy to finally have their nonsense contained. However, he wasn't completely done. There was one more small thing he needed to do.

"You boys can go now, and be safe." He pleaded as they walked out. Then he coughed to catch the last two boys attention, "Louis and Harry, I need to keep you here for an extra moment."

They nodded and didn't seem to mind it, because besides, they didn't really have anywhere important to be. Louis and Harry sat down next to each other on the couch.

"You guys can't be seen together anymore, obviously. If things had gone differently, you guys would be the opposite of what you are now. However, I just wanted to say something." Simon took a deep breath. "You two can't be together anymore. No hanging out or being in the privacy of your homes together. The only times you'll be allowed near one another is during concert time. As must as I hate to say it, this will be the best for you. Believe me."

"Is that so?" Louis quietly laughed sadly. Harry ever so slightly looked up at Simon an gave a sad smile. He could feel the lump in his throat grow painful, but he refused to cry. Something about crying right there and then made Harry feel weak.

Besides he should've expected it, right? It was just a matter of time before something like that was going to happen. From the moment he met Louis, he knew something was going to go down.

Better late than never, he supposed.

"If that's all you have to say, then I'll be going now." Harry whispered with his head down. Louis wouldn't look at him, and that made Harry want to scream.

"Have a good night, Harry." Simon nodded as Harry walked out. Louis followed, but kept a long distance. Louis didn't want to cause anymore trouble. He felt bad about the whole situation. He felt bad for Harry.
