Song Of The Chapter: Sweet Creature by Harry Styles

Over the next week or so, everything seemed relatively okay. Louis and Harry didn't speak much to each other, other then a few hey's here and there, but the silence was comfortable. Not hostile and agitated. Harry felt as though he and Louis were slowly making their way into a new and improved friendship.

All the boys were at Niall's house, enjoying their couple day break from concerts. The blond threw a barbecue, in hopes to party and drink before going to work once again.

Harry laid on a pool float, taking in the sun's warmth. His hair was held back by a pink polka dotted bandana and rose colored sunglasses rested on his face. His legs were clad with short, yellow swimming trunks.

Liam and Niall constantly teased him about being so colorful, but each time they would receive a reply of, "It's because I'm fabulous and you're not."

Louis, on the other hand, thought Harry looked fine with multiple colors. He understood that's just how Harry was; unique. And indeed, he was fabulous and pulled it off well. From all the charity, the amazing songs he wrote and sang, his fashion... he was quite the man.

Louis didn't look at Harry, but smiled at the thought of him. Not a second later, the blue eyed boy frowned. Did he even deserve to smile about Harry? Has he been too much of an asshole?

Louis ignored his thoughts and continued on with the pool basketball game. The only thing he could focus on was not going too far into the deep end. It reached 7 feet and he could only go so far on his tippy toes. So, Niall and Liam agreed Louis would take the shallow end rather than the deep end.

"Oi, Harry, did you put on sunblock so you don't get burnt?" Niall called over.

Harry didn't move to look at the blond but mumbled, "I should be asking you that."

Louis and Liam snickered while Niall scowled.

"Pass the ball, Lou," Liam shouted from the other side.

Louis nodded and tossed the ball, but at the last second, it slipped from his fingertips and went flying at Harry. The words to warn Harry wouldn't come from Louis' mouth, so instead, he attempted to run at the ball. However, he slipped on the cement of the pool floor and went under.

Louis came back up coughing on water. Liam and Niall watched the blue eyed boy with wide eyes and asked if he was fine. Louis merely nodded. While Harry, on the other hand, was the first to jump off his float toward Louis and give him a helping hand. Harry patted Louis' back at an attempt to give relief.

"I'm s-sorry H-Harry," Louis sputtered, done with his coughing fit.

Harry shook his head, "Shut up, it was just a mistake. Are you okay?"

The blue eyed boy gazed at Harry in disbelief, because of how nice he was being - Louis knew Harry was beyond nice but didn't think he'd be nice to Louis because of everything that happened previously. Louis was going to say yes but a voice cut him short.

Niall yelled something about blood but Louis was too caught up in his thoughts that he barely heard. Harry gripped Louis' arm and began to walk up the steps out of the pool.

"Where- ouch." Louis hissed and observed his wrist. Blood lightly oozed from an open wound. Where the hell did it come from?

Louis nervously chuckled, "Look at that, im bleeding."

"C'mon, clumsy," Harry continued to walk Louis to the bathroom, "Ill fix you up. Does that sound good?"

Louis nodded.

-

"Sit on the counter," Harry ordered as they walked into the bathroom. Louis didn't say anything. He only watched his wound knowing it would hurt if he attempted to move the area.

"Harry, I don't-" Louis began.

Harry put up a hand for silence and turned to Louis. In a moments notice, Harry held onto Louis' thighs and pushed him up onto the counter. The blue eyed boy let out a little yelp because he did not expect it.

Harry stood there for a minute, in between Louis' legs, and stared at him. He thought it was adorable how little slivers of Louis' hair laid on his face from the wetness. Cute how his blue eyes seemed to always do that little pouty thing. He liked how when Louis smiled, the corners of his eyes wrinkled. Part of Harry wanted to let him know, but the other part kept a straight face and quietly turned away to begin working.

He knew he couldn't say everything on his mind.

Louis watched Harry's every move as he gathered supplies to mend the wound. He noticed everything, from how steady his hands were to the way he bit his bottom lip because of being so focused. Louis smiled. He always thought Harry would make a good doctor.

Harry raised an eyebrow, "What?"

Louis giggled lightly, "Just thinking."

"About..." Harry pushed.

"Why did you stick with being a singer? I mean, haven't you thought about anything else, like a doctor or something? I think you'd be a good one," Louis rambled on.

"Well," Harry said, "I like doing something that makes others happy. When we go to concerts and whatnot, it makes me feel good inside when I get to see the girls and guys smile because of something I help maintain. One Direction is a big part of me, you know? Everyone makes me happy, and are there for me through thick and thin. You, Liam, and Niall too, of course."

Louis nodded in agreement.

"And I think you're the one I've most grown attatched to, Louis, even though we're not supposed to be around each other anymore. I don't care if I get yelled at, to be completely honest. I'm just happy to be your friend." Harry finished and grabbed Louis' arm. "Oh, and this might sting."

Louis was going to question him, but clenched his jaw in pain when he felt the hydrogen peroxide seep into his skin.

"Thanks," Louis wheezed.

Harry offered a quick smile then went back to fixing Louis' hand. He pulled a waterproof kitten out of the band-aid box and pressed it onto Louis' wrist.

"There you go," Harry grinned, "it's waterproof so you can keep swimming, and cute just like you."

Louis smiled and shook his head, "Silly."

It was quiet for a moment, with Harry still in between Louis' legs, but both their heads snapped towards a clicking noise. There peeked a young girl in the window with a camera in her hand. She had such a crazy smile that the two boys could tell she was more than happy with the picture.

"Niall!" Harry screamed. "Where are those damn security guards?!"

Harry pulled Louis, once again, to a different area of the house. Away from any windows that gave fans chances to peek inside. During the whole sprint to Liam and Niall, Louis could only think about one thing.

Harry and him were going to be in trouble. Again.
