Sabay kaming lumabas ng kwarto para maglunch.

Ayaw pa nga niya, he said we should just order and eat inside our room. But I said no.

I don't want to lock ourselves inside just because we're scared of Luis. Kailangan parin naming umakto ng normal.

"Coron is the next stop. Siguro by midnight tayo makakarating dun."

Sabi niya habang umiinom ng tubig.

"I've never been there." I said while cutting my steak. "Sana di ka biglang ipatawag ni Luis, I really wanna tour around."

"Don't worry, he'll be busy later. And besides, he has Yohan with him."

I perked up. "Bagong business partners lang sila, right?"

"Yeah, but Luis really trusts him. Lagi niyang sinasama tuwing may transaksyon kami."

I raised my brows at him. "Nagseselos ka ba kay Yohan?"

Nabulunan siya bigla. Pagkatapos niyang inumin ang tubig na inabot ko, tinitigan niya ko ng masama.

"Why would I be jealous of that bastard? Come on Paige, naka-second base na ko sayo. The furthest he got was to dance with you. What a fucking loser." He scoffed.

This time, ako naman ang nabulunan. Damn.

"Hindi sakin Knox! Ano ka ba? I mean, nagseselos ka ba kasi pinagkakatiwalaan na siya agad ni Luis?"

He laughed. "Are you joking?"

"Ewan, kasi dati ang akala ko ikaw yung kanang kamay niya eh."

"Things aren't always what they seem, always remember that Paige."

Napakunot ang noo ko. That was deep.

We stayed in our room after that. Hindi umalis sa tabi ko si Knox, pero lagi siyang may kausap sa phone. I couldn't eavesdrop 'cause he was whispering.

"Why did you join the organization?" Tanong ko pagkababa niya ng phone.

He just looked at me but kept quiet.

I was lounging on the sofa while he was standing near the glass window.

"Curious lang ako, ang daming pwedeng trabaho dyan. Why drugs?"

"Why not? It's fast money."

I rolled my eyes. "You forgot the part that it's illegal too."

"So?"

I sat up straight and looked at him. "Seriously, pano ka na-recruit ni Luis dito?"

"I can't tell you, Paige."

"Why?"

"If I tell you, then I'd have to kill you."

He said in serious voice. I shivered, Knox can really be scary when he wants to.

"Then I guess I'd have to figure it out myself."

He sighed. Lumakad siya papunta sakin at umupo sa tabi ko.

"That's what got us here in the first place, your curiousity." I stayed quiet.

"I really can't tell you for now. But after all of this, before I free you, I promise I'll tell you everything."

Napatingin ako sa kanya. "Pinky promise?" I held out my pinky finger.

He looked at me like I was joking. "Ano ka, bata?"

"Dali na kasi."

He hesitantly held out his pinky finger and I immediately reached for it.

"Ayan! You can't break pinky promises. Sasabihin mo sakin lahat-lahat bago mo ko pakawalan." I said while smiling.
