"How are we going to find the others?" I ask Nine and Ella. Because the Mog is killed now, we're now sitting on a bench by the river. The Mog probably brought back up with him and we need to find the others before they do.

"I don't know," Nine says. "They could be anywhere in Savannah!"

"Ella, can you-" I begin.

"Already on it," Ella says. She squeezes her eyes shut and concentrates so hard that she vibrates slightly. Suddenly, her eyes fly open. "Oh my gosh! I got Eight!"

"What!" Nine says, his eyes widening. But Ella's not paying attention to us anymore.

"We're in Savannah, Georgia!" Ella says to Eight telepathically, though we all hear her talking. I block her out for a second.

"If Ella can connect to Eight, he should be able to find the others," I say to Eight. I turn to Ella just as she is screaming, "the capital of Arkansas." She turns to us.

"We need to meet Eight in Arkansas," Ella says.

"Can you find the others now?" Nine asks. Ella nods and focuses again. We wait a few minutes until Ella sighs and opens her eyes. She shakes her head in defeat.

"Well, now what?" I ask, losing hope by the second.

"We could split up and try to find them," Nine suggests. "You and Ella go together and I'll go by myself."

"You can't go by yourself!" Ella pleads.

"Don't worry; I'll beat the crap out of any Mog I encounter," Nine assures. This just seems to make Ella even more upset.

"We can go together," I say. Ella sends me a grateful glance. "It'll just take longer."

"Yeah, a heck lot longer!" Nine says, frustrated. "Trust me! This is the best way! One us us will just have to go alone!"

Then, a pale golden retriever runs up to Nine and looks him dead straight in the eye.

"Who are you?" Nine says like he's addressing a human. Nine bends over and seems to be listening to something the dog says, though I don't hear a thing. "Oh, gotcha," Nine say to the dog.

Nine turns to us. "This is one of Adam's chimæra," he explains. "He followed us here."

"How can you understand him?" Ella asks, her voice small.

"I have an animal communication Legacy, like Johnny," he replies. Nine turns back to the dog. "Will you help us find our friends?"

Nine waits for a respond and turns back to us. "He, Biscuit by the way, said that he would go with one of us to look for one group while the other two of us look for the other group."

"Okay," Ella says. "I'll go on one condition: I go with Nine."

"But that won-" Nine starts but I interrupt him.

"Sounds good, Ella," I say. "Let's go, Biscuit." I realize that Ella must really care about Nine and wants him to take care of her.

Before anyone can protest, I run to the left, away from where we were attacked. "Don't get caught!" I yell at Ella and Nine. Biscuit follows me and I see Ella jump on Nine's back and super speed away in the opposite direction.

"Where should we search first?" I ask Biscuit, who's running beside me, ears flapping in the wind. I smile, but it fades when I realize that I can't communicate with Biscuit like Nine can because I don't have the animal communication Legacy.

We stop running and just stare at each other for a second. I point and motion to the right and Biscuit walks in that direction. He turns back to me and I nod and follow him. We walk along the streets and search for our friends in the crowd of people.
