The first thing I think is no way Eight can be alive.

I saw Eight's dead body. I saw Legacy in Eight's body. I saw Eight's body dissolve.

"Ella, are you sure about this?" I ask dubiously.

"Yes," she replies. "Legacy told me and I KNOW it was Legacy."

"How are we going to find Eight, now that he's alive? He could be anywhere," Nine says.

Lexa walks over from the controls to us (Adam is flying the ship).

"I'm going to drop you guys off in Savannah, Georgia and Adam and I are going to look for Eight," Lexa says. "The remaining Mogs are still probably looking for you and we have a hotel booked where you guys can stay. The chimæra are staying with us to not draw suspicion to you guys."

"And how do you expect to find him?" Mark says, rudely.

"You should look in India," Five says. "That was his home for years. He probably went back."

"Good idea, Five," Lexa replies.

"I'll try to communicate with him telepathically," Ella says. She walks back to we chairs and sits, pressing her hands to her head.

Lexa walks back to the front of the plane and takes control.

We finish our lunch and go and sit back in our chairs. I sit next to Sam and Five.

I sit as far away from Five as I can. I grab Sam's hand.

"Thanks for not getting killed," I say to him.

"I'm glad we're all back together," he replies.

I look around to make sure no one is watching. Marina and Mark and talking and Four is arguing with Nine. Five is sleeping, snoring slightly, and Daniela is drawing a mustache on his face with a sharpie. Ella's still deep in thought.

I lean over and kiss Sam on the lips, short and sweet.

Sam blushes and a grin spreads across his face.

I squeeze his hand and he squeezes back.

I close my eyes and drift off to sleep, a smile dancing on my face.

-----------

About an hour later, I wake up.

"We're about to land," Lexa tells us. "I'm going to land in a park and give you directions to the hotel. It's right next to the river and there are lots of little stores nearby."

She walks around and hands each of us $1,000.

"This is for food and any extra things you may need. We don't plan on being gone long, but just in case.."

Just in case you're killed by Mogs I think.

"Where'd you get the money?" Mark asks, a note of suspicion on his words.

"Oh, I have my ways," Lexa replies. She winks and walks over to the lever that opens the door and releases a ramp onto the ground.

I feel a thud as we hit the ground and roll to a stop. I start to lose balance, but catch myself. Marina trips and falls, but recovers quickly.

Lexa pulls the lever and the door opens, the warm sunlight flowing through the opening.

Nine goes to get Ella, who seems to have drifted to sleep, and we step onto soft green grass.

"I've printed out a map of the area and marked where your hotel is," Lexa announces.

She takes a large piece of paper and hands it to John.

Of course. He's always the leader. Always having to be humble and perfect.

I'm surprised. I don't know where that resentment for John's leadership came from.

"We wish you luck and will, hopefully, come back with Eight," Adam says, stopping halfway down the ramp.

He and Lexa climb back into the ship and they take off.

We watch the ship become smaller and smaller until it's just a speck in the blue sky.

----------

Nine, Five, John, and I use our super speed to run to the city, John tugging Mark along, Ella riding on Nine's back, and me grabbing Sam's hand and him running beside me. Five grabs Daniela by the waist and they fly above us.

I can see that Daniela is trying to act mad about Five carrying her, but even she can't hide her smile.

When we get to the city, we decide to walk to the hotel so we're not noticed.

Four walks in front of us and holds up the map.

San grabs my hand and we walk along the river. I look around at the little stores and apartments lining the edge of the water, people walking along the street and driving past us.

It almost feels like we're just a bunch of regular teenagers, not aliens and two mortals trying to hide from Mogadorians.

About fifteen minutes later, John stops at a gray building with pink flowers in flower boxes outside the window.

"This is it," John says.

We walk in. There's a counter on the left and red couches on the right. I can see tables and chairs and a buffet counter for breakfast.

"Snazzy place," Nine says.

I walk over note counter.

"We, um, have a room booked here," I say to the lady at the front desk.

"Okay, name?" the lady says.

"Lexa," I say.

"Oh yes. You have two bedrooms," she replies. "Is this like a field trip or something? There's a lot of you!"

"Sure. It's a field trip. Lexa is our...chaparone," I lie. I hope she doesn't keep asking questions.

The lady hands me a room key. The others are laying on the couches. I hold up the room key and motion towards the elevator. We all pile in.

"We have room 313 and 315," I say.

Ella pushes the button for the third floor.

"Did you talk to Eight?" John asks Ella.

"No, but it might work better if I wasn't so hungry," she replies.

"You sure you're not just trying to get us to buy you food?" Marina says, giggling.

"Maybe."

The elevator dings and we walk down the hallway. The red and gold carpet muffles our footsteps as we approach our rooms.

"So who's in which room?" Sam asks.

"Obviously we should have girls in one room and guys in another, dummy," Mark says. "Do you think before you talk?"

We chuckle and I pat Sam on the shoulder.

We split up. Ella, Marina, Daniela, and I walk into room 313. There is are two beds.

"I call this bed with Marina. You guys can have the other bed," I say, throwing my jacket on the bed closest to the door. Ella curls up in the leather chair next to the desk in the corner and Marina walks onto our balcony for fresh air. Daniela sits on the bed and gets on her phone.

"You can't text anyone," I tell Daniela. "The Mogs can track your phone."

"Jeez calm down," Daniela says, sharply. "I'm just playing Color Switch."

She acts like I know what that is.

"I just met you and you're already acting like my mom," Daniela says, turning away from me.

I roll my eyes and head to the bathroom.

I immediately start the shower. I'm still covered in blood. Sarah's blood. I feel tears start to form in my eyes. I shake my head and get ready for the shower.

I get in the shower and flinch as the hot water hits me. Red, rusty blood and dirt swirl down the drain.

I imagine letting drain sucking me down and taking me to a normal life.
