Daniela lets out another string of curses. I can't hear her exact words through her gag, but I can sense the frustration and anger in her voice as her words are muffled. I don't blame her. This has pretty much been the crappiest day ever. I mean, I am thankful that I'm not dead and all, but a couple times I thought I was going to be. Let's just say that Setrukís Ra was pretty ticked off about the fact that his guards let Six and Sam get away. He pretty much left Daniela and I as close to death, and as close to wishing for death, as we could get. He tied us to the pillars of the building and shot us with electricity. They spread this goo on Daniela's arms that made her let out a blood curdling scream. But it was worth it to spare Sam and Six the pain. The Mogs tried to get us to reveal where the others were, but we were able to stay strong. Finally, Setrukís made them stop and now we're traveling to their main base. I guess they want us alive for some reason.
It feels like we've been crammed into this cage for hours. We probably have. Daniela and I have desperately been trying to get out of our chains, but it's been unsuccessful. Even our telekinesis hasn't been able to work. It must be the cage. I'm drenched in sweat and ache all over. It feels like my entire body was dropped on to the floor. Out of a plane. Right at the edge of the atmosphere. You know the feeling the day after you've worked out really hard and you feel bruised all over? That's how I feel X5. It sucks. Then, I hear a weird sound like a machine warming up. Suddenly, the air starts smelling really weird and I start feeling dizzy. They're knocking us out. I try and keep my eyes open, but after a while, I stop fighting and let my eyelids droop.
I'll save the fight for later, I think as my conciousness drifts off.
-----------
When I come to, I don't even open my eyes at first. I feel that my arms are being held up by, from the feel of it, chains. I finally open my eyes and have to squint to look at my surroundings. I first see Daniela, who's across from me, still unconscious. There are chains hanging above her head that are clasped above her wrists and letting her arms hang limp. Just like mine. I turn my head to look around. We're in a small room, the width short enough for me to spread my arms out and touch both sides (I'm guessing) and the length about twice that. The walls look like stone, but seem artificial. I can see a bar door and window, which are blocked so we only get light from the thin beams around the covering of the window. The one good thing that's happened today is that I no longer have a gag around my mouth.
"Daniela!" I whisper-shout.
She starts to move and opens her eyes, moaning.
"Sheont, John. I was sleeping."
"Sorry to wake you from the nap we took because we were freakin' gassed!"
"Well, know I'm chained to a cold wall and I kind of wish we were still knocked out!"
I sigh. "Just calm down. Any escape ideas?"
"Telekinesis?" Daniela suggests, shrugging. I narrow my eyes and focus on her cuffs. They don't even shake. I look at the bars keeping us in this room and try to bend them. Nothing.
"John, can you see that stuff of the bars?" Daniela says, looking at the door.
Because of the dark material blocking the door on the outside, I can see a faint red glow around the bars.
"They're charged with Dreynen," I say.
"What?"
"It's like the Legacy Ella has. It canceled Legacies. Setrakús Ra had it."
"You don't think Ella..."
"No! You saw her in the vision! She's with Marina!"
"I wasn't being serious. No worries, John," Daniela says sarcastically. It's kind of annoying, her sarcasm in a time like this.
