"Hey mom, hey dad."

~*~

After my parents showed up, it got quiet, like real awkward. Everyone stopped talking and I started to shift in my seat.

You know, I thought when I saw my parents again it would be a happy, like we would hug and talk about their travels.

Nope. That didn't happen, they just sat down and stared at all of us intensely.

"Justin, how's the school thing going?" Dad asks, looking at him.

My dad looks a lot like uncle Ken, just a shaved head, but the hair is coming back with his mixed color. Red, black, gray, brown, I have his hair. Like my other family members, he has a dark blue eyes. His accent is mixed with a German one, which means they probably just came from there.

"Uh, the same, dad." Justin says with a frown. Mom sighs, "Justin we can't always pay for you."

My mom has long dark brown hair with equally brown eyes. She has real pale skin, like me and laughing lines around her eyes. Her accent is a lot like my dads, but a little more American than German.

"But mom, he has a well paying job and takes care of us." I defend for him, crossing his arms over my chest. Rose says it makes me look older, less childish.

"And you, Anna," Dad says with a stern gaze, "How has your school work been doing? Or the dating?"

"Just because I get detention, doesn't mean I'm not a good student, and the "boy thing" you're referring to is doing fine. I mean you let plenty of guys stay at the house and we have a lot of quality time." I sneer.

"Anna." Makayla warns.

"Don't." Rose whispers.

You know, my parents were assholes when they left, but they've brought it to a whole new level. I've never had a problem with them, but I get kinda defensive when it comes to Justin or Sarah.

My friends, Makayla mostly, says I got to ignore so I don't get in trouble often. Yeah, that doesn't work.

I know what you're probably think: They send you stuff from all over, so shouldn't they love you? Or something along the lines of that.

Well, they left without warning, but call often, so they're not bad parents. Just not that caring and stuff.

"Anything else to say, father?" I decided to push a little farther.

"Anna Marie Parker, do you want to be grounded?" Mom ask with a slight glare.

"How can you ground me when you're across the seas?" I question.

"Don't push it, Anna."

I open my mouth to say something, but a warm hand on my knee stops me. I look at Alfred with a questionable glare.

He give me a look and I know what the look mean, I get this look often.

Stop pushing it, Anna.

I sigh, looking up at my parents. "I'm sorry, father, mother, I shouldn't have interrupted you or sassed you. Please do not ground me." I say with a sweet smile.

Obviously a fake sweet smile.

They look taken aback, because usually I don't give in until the ground me for 4 weeks. My dad is the first to say anything. "It's alright..." He blinks his blue eyes glancing at Alfred.
