I didn't really know what I was expecting. A party waiting for me? Sarah dancing to the Single Ladies? The countries actually getting along?
No. None of that was actually happening and it was just something my mind made up so I wouldn't start sobbing further. I wipe my eyes once more before I stop in the door way of the living room.
Arthur is doing some magic, it seems. It's the first time since he's got here that I've actually seen him try the dark magics. I clear my throat, making the crying sound go away.
"Arthur?" I ask, walking to the couch. I rest my arms on the couch behind Sarah. The Brit looks up, his green eyes catching mine momentarily. They squint at me for a moment, a worried look flashing across his features.
"Arthur, what the hell are you doing?" I demand, pulling my arms away from the couch to cross them. Justin looks over at me, "He said that he-"
Feli interrupts cheerfully, "Artie said that he found how we got here!"
It goes silent for a moment. I look over at Alfred to see him staring at me, his mouth agape like he's trying to form words. I look back over to Arthur.
"Well, are you just going to stare at me? I don't have all day." I cross my arms, flicking my brown hair over my shoulder.
He nods, "Well," He coughs lightly as he moves some magic around, "You said that you agreed for a prize, right? On that laptop? Well, around the same time, I was- uh- I was doing some dark magic, and I once I added the last potion, I saw you."
I blink. "You saw me though dark magic? Oh, that's great." That's all my rep needed. A nerd that is connected to black magic. Arthur shakes his head, standing so he can look down to me.
"It's not like that. I saw you on you laptop, and watched you get the message. At the same time, I added the-"
"So, what you are saying is that you're at fault for everyone being here? In the real world?"
"Yes, but I think I can get us back, if we really wanted to leave."
Silence fills the air again. Oh, crap. They can't leave. One, they have jobs, and two, I don't want them too. I know sometimes I get angry at them, but I love having them around. Even if it's Gilbert.
I have memories of all of them, but it's not actually like having them at my side. I clench my fist. My house would be empty again, I wouldn't have to go shopping every single week, I could have friends over again- more than my usually ones.
I glance up at him, "And.. you want to leave?" Arthur opens his mouth, but closes it. "I can only speak for myself, Anna, I don't know."
I sniff, my chest burning at the thought of them leaving. I won't cry. I won't cry in front of them. Instead, I let out a dry laugh, "Wow, this is turning out to be like a crappy drama, isn't it? If this was a book, I'd make so much fun of this."
The Brit raise his hand, "Anna-" I wave my hands, shaking my head. "No, no. I'm fine, it's great that you found a way back to your world. I don't want you to hesitate for my sake. I'm... I'm a big girl. I know this is right thing to do."
My lips twitch lightly, or more like quiver as I turn. I walk towards my room, grabbing my boots and slipping them on along with a jacket.
"Going to run to Matt?" I jump, my phone almost falling out of my hands. I look up to see Gilbert with his arm crossed over his chest. I roll my eyes, "I need some fresh air."
"Oh, right. Not going to run to your boyfriend then?"
I give him a sideways look. I don't need his attitude right now. I'm seriously going through something I didn't even think I cared about. I stand up straight, walking until I'm arm's length away from him.
