Adam's POV
I couldn't sleep. I just couldn't. No matter how many times I tried, my tired eyes wouldn't close.

I admit it. I missed Lucy dearly. And I never got the chance to tell her how much I really cared about her.

I was finally starting to close my eyes when I hear a strange noise.

"Hoo...!"

I jump.

"Hoot! Hoot!"

What was that?

I look over to my window to see an owl flapping his wings as if he were trying to get my attention.

I open the window and the owl comes flying in.

It circled around in the ceiling a few times, making me very dizzy.

Then finally it came to rest on my arm.

"Um... hi?" I say.

"Hoo, hoo, hoot!" the owl said.
"Hello. I need your help, Adam."

I didn't know much about owls but somehow I could tell what they were saying.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Hoot! Hoo, hoo... Hoot! Hoot!"
"It's the Princess! She's in grave danger!"

"Why? What's happening?" I ask.

"Hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo! Hoot! Hoot! Hoot! Hoo! Hoo!"
"I was flying in the sky, minding my own business, when suddenly my sense of echolocation picks up a strange sight. It was a guard. And he was making some food for someone. But I noticed that he put some drops of sleeping potion in a glass of wine. He left, unaware of me following him. The man comes to the Princess' bedroom and both of them start a conversation. So I swooped down to get a better view. And I was just in time to see the man giving the Princess the poisoned cup of wine and the Princess falling asleep."

"Falling asleep?" I repeat.

"Hoo, hoo, hoot!"
"Yes. But wait, this is the interesting part. Care to listen?"

"Tell me."

"Hoot! Hoot! Hoo, hoot!"
"When the man came face-to-face with another group of people, he lied to them, saying that it was you who made her do this. Now the whole kingdom is on full alert, looking for you!"

"Oh no... What should I do?"

"Hoot! Hoo, hoo!"
"You need to go back to the kingdom and save her before it's too late!"

"But how? You just said they were looking for me!"

"Hoot, hoot!"
"Leave that to me!"

The owl flew high in the sky and it started hooting very loudly.

At first, nothing happened.

But then there were at least a dozen more owl calls responding back to this little owl.

I could also see them very clearly too.

It was a magnificent sight to see.

"Hoot! Hoot!"
"Guys, this is Adam. He needs our help. Now, I suggest you all distract those guards while he attempts to save Lucy."

Another owl joined in on the conversation.
"Hoot! hoot!"
"But why, Soarin?"

"Hoot!"
"Hooter, the answer to your question is this. It's the right thing to do."

I was surprised.
For a little barn owl, Soarin knew his stuff.

Soarin flew high up in the sky.
"Hoo, hoot! Hoo!"
"Adam, follow me!"

After leaving a note on the door, I put on a jacket, and I rushed outside.
