Flames's POV
"I have to tell you something." I say.

Lucy sat down on a bench with me. "OK. Shoot it."

"When I was little, I used to have a family. A house. A normal life..."

"Oh. So you weren't always Flames Pond?"

"Exactly. But then all of that changed. One day, I was playing in our backyard when I heard people screaming and running frantically. The next thing that happened was unbelievable. I heard a large bang and then I looked back and everything was... gone."
I sigh.

"Oh, Flames. I'm so sorry..." Lucy said, putting a gentle hand on mine.

I smile slightly. "Thanks. But there's nothing I can do about it now. But that doesn't matter; the only thing that matters is that you're safe."

Lucy smiled but that was all.
Nothing was spoken then.

All we did was lean closer...

And closer...

But before this got anywhere, we heard someone speaking.

It was Frank.
********************************
"Flames," he said.

I clear my throat and draw away from Lucy. "Um, yes?"

"They're defeated." Frank said.

"Excellent! But where's the rest of your men?" I ask.

"They didn't make it."

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that."

Frank shrugged. "Loss is a painful sight. But it makes us all stronger. I'm gonna take care of the mess up there. You two can come up whenever. Oh, and Flames?"

"Yes, Frank?"

"You might wanna tell the Queen that it is safe to return now."

I nod. "Will do."

That was when Frank left.
I sighed deeply.

"Lucy."

Lucy looked at me. "Yes, Flames?"

"........... I might have to go."

Lucy's POV
I couldn't believe my ears. Flames was... leaving?

"Go? Go where?" I ask.

"Back home." he replied.

"But why?"

"Because I'm no longer needed here. Besides Fuzzy is defeated once and for all. And you're safe, as well as your kingdom. Now it's time for me to head back where I belong."

I felt tears sting my eyes. "But Flames..."

"Lucy, I know it's hard. But you know it's true." Flames said. "So please, don't cry... everything's gonna be OK. Come here..."
He hugged me and I hugged him back.

That was all I wanted to happen.
********************************
As I saw Flames get on a helicopter, we hugged one last time. This was probably going to be the last I see of him.

"I'm gonna miss you, Flames..." I say.

"I'm gonna miss you too... But we'll see each other again, I promise. Oh, and one more thing."

"What?"

"My name isn't really Flames Pond. That's just my nickname. My real name is... Adam." he said.

"I like that name." I say. "It suits you."

"Thanks..." he said.

'Adam' was about to leave but I said, "Wait. Um, there's something I have to tell you."

"Yeah?" he asked.

"Listen, I just wanna say that I-"

"Flames, let's go!" a man said interrupting me.

"Um, I'll be there in a bit." Adam called back.
"Anyway what'd you wanna tell me?"

"..... Nevermind. I forget."

"OK. Well, I gotta go. See ya later, alligator..."

"After a while, crocodile..." I respond.

And that was it.
Adam got onto the ride with his friends and I watched the helicopter disappear into the sky until I couldn't see it anymore.
