Maka's POV:
Okay, so honestly I feel a tiny bit bad that I stol-I mean Borrowed- Wes's really expensive watch. I only took it so I'd have an idea of how much time it'd take me to find Soul and his family. Less than an hour was my guess . . .until the oldest Evans . . .
Let's not think about that!!!
I continued running around (A/N: I'm assuming it does take energy to use Soul Perception, like how many times would she honestly be able to activate that thing and for how long? Anyone have any ideas? For now I'm limiting it to once or twice every 15 minutes.)
Soul had stayed on the first floor with Black Star. Tsubaki had stayed in the room, Kid was running with Patty and Liz, more and more kishins (kishan? :( I forgot) kept showing up.
"This is insane!" I shouted as I continued running down the hallway. As I ran to where I thought the stairs were, I saw a figure standing by the doorway to the stairwell.
"Good bye, Maka Albarn." The older male voice laughed. Then an explosion went off.
Kid's POV:
When I heard the explosion I immediately started running for Maka. (A/N not a KidXMaka story! XP)
The problem was, I couldn't find Maka's soul anywhere.
"MAKA!" I shouted as I continued running.
"What's wrong kid?" Liz asked urgently.
"Maka's soul is missing!" I shouted as I formed my skateboard and continued racing, at a considerably faster pace, down the various hallways that mysteriously appeared.
I came to a halt when I saw the singed carpet and walls, an explosion that seemed to be coming from the stairwell. Kneeling down, I began to investigate. This had definitely been the source of the noise, moving forward slowly, and quietly I went to the door.
Violently, I kicked it open and jumped into the stairwell with my guns raised.
"What the?" I whispered, there were no signs of the explosion at all. The sounds of the kishin eggs came again.
(Okay, don't know if I described the kishins or not, basically, they're like the mummy beasts from one of the first episodes but they don't look quite the same.)
I turned around and started firing rapidly at the approaching group.
Soul's POV:
I couldn't keep carrying Black Star, I didn't know what was wrong with him, and I didn't want him to be found. I had already come across a group of kishin eggs, but without Maka I couldn't fight them.
Now what I couldn't figure out was why there were kishin eggs in my house. Nothing was making sense and I was already irritated enough with coming home at all, only to fight with my family and not even spend much time with my grandmother.
I decided to ditch Black Star in the one place I knew he'd be safe. When I was younger I had found places in the older mansion for secret rooms and such, whoever built this place had to of loved secret passages, because I could get around the house without crossing anyone's path. I even made my own real room out of one of the passages. I had sheets of music, books, posters, you name it. This room was more me than anything.
So that's where I left Black Star, on the make-shift bed where I would sleep when I was upset, underneath my given room, where there was only a piano, bed, and a closet. Underneath my bed was the passage way.
After climbing up through the passage way, I shut the door firmly behind me and began making my way around the house to see what was really going on.
After sneaking around for a bit I heard the familiar noise of Kid's gunfire.
"KID!" I shouted running around the corner. Kid was standing near the stairwell, out of breath, while Liz and Patty were collecting souls.
"Soul! Finally!" Kid growled. "Why the heck do you have kishin eggs here?!" He demanded stomping up to my face.
"How should I know? I haven't come home in a couple years. I'm as lost as you are." I answered back coolly.
He made an irritated noise and backed away. "I think you have witches here." He finally told me.
"What makes you think that?"
"Too many kishine eggs to hide. When Maka and I both did a Soul Perception of the house we did not see one Kishin egg, and now it's as if this entire place was a Kishin egg breeding ground."
"So . . . we have more than one witch to deal with and it's only us? Shouldn't we call Stein or something?" Liz asked.
"That would be smart." Kid admitted. "We'll handle all that we can and wait for reinforcement from this point onward."
Kid did his hand motions to call his father using his powers as a grim reaper. The purple skull appeared on the floor and then a light shinned up from it, soon Lord Death was reflecting in the light.
"Hello <3." Lord Death smiled and waved. "I still think you're stripes are still as cute as ever."
"Please don't patronize me father. It seems we have a problem." Kid explained the situation, including his theories about the witches.
"I see. I'll send Stein and Maria to your location. Sid too-"
"WHERE IS MY BABY MAKA?!" Spirit shouted jumping up behind Lord Death. I sighed and rolled my eyes at him.
"We don't know where she is at the moment. . . I can't even locate her soul. "
"WHAT?" I demanded. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"WHERE IS MY MAKA?!?!" Spirit shouted again, which resulted in an angry Lord Death smashing his head with a 'DEATH CHOP'.
Kid looked angry. "I just don't understand what happened. She would never lose her soul so easily and there was an explosion just before she disappeared."
I growled and began pacing. Where would she be?
"You should start moving civilians to a safer location." Lord Death decided.
"But we won't know who the witches are if they have soul protection on." Kid pointed out. "We would be sneaking out a witch without knowing it."
"Still, you should be trying to protect the civilians anyway. Try and protect them and deal with one problem at a time, our top priority is to remove the threat, keep civilians safe, and locate Maka." Lord Death responded.
"Alright. I understand, Dad." Kid nodded. "How long until they arrive?"
"They're being dispatched right now. So in about 30 minutes if we use our fastest modes of transportation."
"Good. We'll hold up as best we can here then." Kid nodded and then the spell ended. Liz and Patty both turned back into their weapon forms and then he began moving.
"What are you going to do Soul?" Kid asked.
"Gonna hide my family from the Kishin eggs, then I'm going to look for Maka."
Kid nodded and ran off, as did I.
Love you all <3 hope you liked the chapter, we got Stein coming soon :D any ideas on what happened to Maka? Please comment, vote, and or follow!
