Searching for the Witches

Sorry for late update and horrible last chapter, I love you all!

Kid's POV:

I'm a shinigami, do I really have to deal with this?! 

Liz's POV:

Hilary was crying and having a complete break down.

"I-I-I mean we've been together for years! We got engaged before he even knew he was a weapon! He used to be so kind to me and now-" *sobs* "-now he's in love with that flat chested nerd!" 

"Well, maybe it just wasn't meant to be." I answered softly. "If Soul doesn't love you, why waste your time and tears crying over him? Why are-were- you even engaged anyway?" 

Hilary sniffed and wiped some of her tears. "It was originally a business type deal, but then . . . he just was so beautiful. I fell in love with him and his music and I was so happy. It was just perfect-he was perfect! Then we found out he was a weapon, a-and I didn't have a problem with it. He went to that school and I-I didn't have a problem, but then he drops  all contact and pretends he isn't even related to us and that he didn't care for me!" She cried again. 

Patty just stared at her then she smiled, "You look like you could use a giraffe, ugly crying lady." 

In case you weren't expecting it, Hilary was crying even harder and it was getting harder to talk with her. "Hey, hey!" I tried calling to her. It didn't help that Kid had over heard the conversation and started laughing. 

"Kid would you shut up?!" I shouted angrily. Why do I have to be the one comforting the crazy chick. "You know what?" I stood up and grabbed Hilary by the arm. "We're taking you to where Soul is so he can put you where he's putting the rest of the civilians." 

She looked up with a hopeful expression, "Do you think Soul would be willing to talk this over with me when we see him?" 

I sighed at her then looked into her eyes and instantly jumped onto my guard. Because, besides the tears, she didn't have any sorrow in her eyes, in fact her eyes held a calm and collected look to them. Weird.

"Kid, where is Soul?" I asked him, but he was now lightly chuckling. 

Kid's POV: 

Hilary was not sane to say the least. 

Either way I saw Soul's soul two floors below us heading towards the soul I had identified as his mother. "He's bellow us. Two floors, Hilary you can go by yourself, I don't see any kishin eggs so you'll be fine, I'd rather you be escorted to Soul, but we're rushed for time and we need to figure out where the witches are."

"Witches?" Hilary asked confused. 

"Beings with strong power, that we students from the DWMA have to battle with, because they are usually trying to take over the world yada yada yada." I explained tiredly. 

"Why would their be a witch here?" She asked looking worried. 

"That's why we need to start moving now." I admitted looking at Liz and Patty, who understood instantly and transformed back into their weapon form. "You're safe all the way down to Soul and . . . oh hey. Black Star is with him, huh." I noticed. Hilary nodded and headed towards the door. 

"We'll keep watch for you and get to you if we see any kishin eggs approach." I informed her looking up towards another wave that was heading down towards our position. 

"Kishin eggs?" Hilary asked again wiping her eyes. 

"The monsters attacking your home." 

"What are you talking about?" She demanded. "What monsters?" 

"Don't worry, these unsymmetrical beasts are what we are usually fighting. We'll get rid of them in no time." I promised and moved away towards the opposite end of the corridor. 

"Th-there aren't any monsters down this way? How can you tell?" She asked looking nervously towards the opposite door. 

"I have something called 'Soul Perception' that allows me to see where they are, okay? As much as I'd love to keep explaining everything to you, you've really got to get Soul before he moves and then I'll be stuck trying to protect you and figure out what exactly is going on here." I started moving away, but not before I heard her whisper something that was disturbing.

"Unsymmetrical trash." I flinched and was about to fall into hysteria, but the kishin eggs had just broke down the door.

"GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" I ordered Hilary, who began to run. I started rapidly firing once again at the new wave of kishin eggs. 

"Guys, let's go with the death cannon." I told Patty and Liz. 

"Sure."

"Alright, let's do it." They both responded. That's when they transformed into the death cannon.

"Now we can get rid of them faster." I smiled and we began loading up.

Soul's POV: 

Black Star and I had found my mom unconscious in her chair. The one she always sat in while she was thinking or writing down song melodies.

Black Star wasn't looking to good. He kept shaking his head, and when I asked him if he was alright, he'd only reply 'I'm the guy who is going to surpass God, I don't need to be worried over by the peasants'.

Needless to say I stopped asking for a while. I had put my mom into one of the secret passages and made sure she was comfortable. When we came up, we found Hilary looking around. 

"Hilary!" I called out and jumped up. "You need to go down into here with my mom and just wait there with her, okay? There are a lot of kishin eggs here and none of them can get into the passages."

"But . . . Soul I needed to talk to you." She announced, but I merely sighed at her. 

"This isn't cool . . . you need to just get in the passage, okay? Haven't you seen the kishin eggs?"

"Yeah, I have. Your goth friend told me to find you." She explained. 

"Right, now you need to go into hiding. I'm in charge of  protecting the civilians at the moment because Maka is missing."

"Don't just speak of her so casually to me." Hilary snapped angrily.

"She's my meister and you're my ex-fiance. It shouldn't matter, now you're going to get your soul eaten if you don't hid in the passage, now." I growled. Suddenly, Black Star grabbed my shoulder.

Looking back at him, I saw a confused look on his face. "Soul . . . I remember something . . . something about her." He explained quietly. 

"It seems Black Star is back in the game then." A girly voice called out. Hilary screamed and Black Star and I got into a defensive position. 

"Whose there?!" I shouted.
