haneul stood on the opposite side of the two way glass, watching as jin and his partner, hoseok, played good cop bad cop.
"so, yoongi. can you explain to us what happened?" hoseok asked, his tone light and gentle. haneul assumed he was the good cop.
"i already said i didn't do it. i walked in, seen the knife on the floor, picked it up and then found her dead in the kitchen," yoongi frowned, his head hung low. tears slowly fell down his perfect skin as he recalled the memories.
poor thing, haneul thought.
"bullshit. something happened in that kitchen, and you know exactly what happened," jin spat. bad cop, check.
"i said, i didn't do it. i was drunk! i was at the bar!" yoongi hissed, his body starting to shake with anger.
"so then how do you explain the death of lee hyun-ae and her unborn child?!" jin snapped.
haneul's body tensed, her lips slightly quivering from the harsh pressure coming from the interrogation room.
"wh-what? child?" yoongi asked, head shooting up at the revelation.
"you didn't know?" hoseok asked, hand pressed against jin's chest to keep him from attacking the suspect... or victim.
yoongi looked up at hoseok, eyes darting between jin and hoseok. his eyes began to water as his lips quivered.
he didn't know. is he even the father?
haneul knocked on the glass, jin and hoseok turning to the source of sound before nodding at each other.
"give us a second, min yoongi," jin spat, walking towards the door. jin and hoseok walked through the door, shutting the metal door behind them.
"what's up, hanny?" jin asked, arms crossing over his chest.
"do you think that he belongs next to jimin and the rest of your patients?" hoseok asked, leaning against the glass.
"no. he's merely a victim, too. it also appear that he wasn't even aware of his girlfriends pregnancy, leading me to believe that yoongi may or may not be the father," haneul sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"wait, you don't think he's the father? why?" hoseok asked, eyebrows furrowing.
"well, the fact that the girlfriend was four months, she should've at least mentioned it by now. most girlfriends do, unless..." haneul trailed off.
"unless, yoongi wasn't the father to begin with. god dammit, so who is?" jin cursed.
"i think, and this is just my hypothesis, that the father of hyun-ae's child and eun hui are the same man," haneul murmured.
"what?!" both of the boys yelped.
"i think that the man who impregnated hyun-ae and eun hui are the same man. when both women refused to leave their boyfriends for him, jealousy took over and he felt he had no choice but to kill them," haneul explained.
"so, it was either he had them or nobody could," jin sighed, glancing between hoseok and haneul.
"exactly," haneul confirmed.
"okay, but wait. didn't you say that you think the park jimin case and jeon jungkook case are the same? jimin's mother wasn't pregnant," hoseok pointed out.
"true, but it could be the same situation. where the murderer wanted jimin's mother but she didn't want to continue. either he had her or nobody could," haneul replied.
"if your hypothesis is correct, who's the father?" jin asked, looking inside the interrogation room to a weeping min yoongi.
"i don't know. but we need to find out fast before another victim falls prey to this selfish psychopath."
