the black police car sped down the street, the siren cutting through the air. cars moved out of the way of the speeding cop car, allowing haneul and jin to get to kim taehyung's house.
"woah speed demon, think we can slow down a bit?" haneul breathed out slowly.
"sure thing," jin chuckled, turning onto the offramp. they made a quick right and were immediately introduced to a clean and pristine neighborhood.
"okay, we're here," jin sighed, pulling up in front of a large black home. jin began unbuckling his seat belt, and grabbing his holster, with his gun inside. jin opened the glove department, pulling out a knife, handing it to haneul.
"just in case," jin murmured. haneul's small hand wrapped around the knife, taking it and placing it in between her breasts. jin and haneul laughed at the action.
the two exited the car and quickly walked up the cemented pathway to taehyung's door.
jin knocked on the door, the two waiting for a response.
"nervous?" jin asked.
"not yet," haneul breathed out. the door's lock could be heard, the click of it signifying the fact that taehyung was indeed home.
"hello?" taehyung said, smiling at haneul.
"hello, kim taehyung. do you mind if we come in?" haneul asked.
"sure, of course. hi, jin. it's a pleasure to see you," taehyung said, offering a box like smile.
haneul and jin step into the clean house, immediately entranced by the wide open space. jin and haneul removed their shoes, out of respect, and followed taehyung to the living room.
"i didn't catch your name, ma'am," taehyung smiled. haneul would be lying to herself if she said she didn't think taehyung was cute. he was gorgeous actually. but haneul found herself comparing him to jimin.
"haneul. kim haneul," she smiled.
"ah, another kim. well, nice to meet you. do either of you want tea?" taehyung asked.
"i would love some," jin smiled, obviously faked.
"as would i. thank you," haneul smiled. taehyung excused himself and walked to the kitchen.
"what should we do?" haneul asked, slightly panicking.
"just be cool. be natural," jin whispered. taehyung returned with a tray full of three teacups and macaroons.
"here you go," taehyung smiled.
"thank you," haneul and jin smiled, taking their respective cups.
"so, what brings you two to my home today?" taehyung asked, sipping his tea quietly soon after.
"uhm, if you don't mind, there's a few questions i'd like to ask," haneul smiled.
"of course, anything for the pretty lady," taehyung smiled, a wink following shortly. haneul could feel her cheeks warm with embarrassment.
"well, thank you. uhm, i work as the police department psychiatrist. i also work at the mental rehabilitation center. i recently got park jimin and jeon jungkook as patients and would like to ask you about the crime scenes," haneul smiled, setting the tea on the coffee table before her.
"ah, yes. well, starting with the jeon jungkook case, i can clearly remember the smell of the body. it started as a simple noise complaint. chief sent my partner and i to check it out. boy, weren't we in for quite a shock when we seen jeon jungkook hovered over the body with the murder weapon still in his hand," taehyung smirked.
haneul noticed the small glint in his eye; it was as if there was something taehyung knew that haneul had yet to discover.
"and then what happened?" haneul asked.
"we asked him to put his hands up, he kept crying, saying he didn't do it. how sorry he was that they fought," taehyung said, his voice eerily calm. haneul shifted in her seat, the feeling of fear creeping up her spine.
"was that it?" haneul asked, her lip quivering ever so slightly. however, that still caught the attention of taehyung, which made his smirk grow even more eerie.
"do i frighten you, haneul?" taehyung asked, leaning into his seat.
"not really, no," haneul lied. haneul was terrified, you can see by the way her pupils dilated and the way her hands tried their best to stay in place.
"roosevelt once said 'the only thing we have to fear is fear itself'. so, do not fear me, haneul. not unless you lied about what you were really here for," taehyung coldly stated, setting his cup on the table in front of him.
haneul nervously threw jin a glance of worry before looking back at taehyung.
"you caught us," haneul smirked.
"you want to know how i did it, right? how lee hyuk and i got away with this, and many more, murders?" taehyung chuckled.
haneul and jin could feel their eyes getting heavy.
"it's simple. and i can tell you the rules to become a perfect serial killer," taehyung said, his voice sounding distant to the two victims. haneul and jin collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
"rule number one: always offer the guest something to 'drink'."
