haneul walked to her car as soon as her shift ended. it was raining heavily as she searched her bag for her keys.

"ya! haneul! wait up!" a male voice shouted, ceasing the bone chilling silence.

haneul turned around to see her bestfriend, jin, jog towards her with his newly dyed hair. 

"oh, jin? nice hair, almost didn't recognize you with the hair," she smiled, ruffling her hands through his hair, a chuckle escaping his lips.

"namjoon said the same thing when i walked through the door," jin chuckled.

"how are you two?" haneul smiled, crossing her arms over her chest. 

"good. i wanted to catch up to you because i got the files for you," jin smiled, pulling out the files from beneath is sweater.

"oh, thank you!" haneul smiled, shyly taking them from him.

"but why did you want the files from an investigation from two years ago?" jin asked, cramming his hands into his pockets.

"i think the park jimin case and this one are connected," haneul breathed out.

park jimin.

how could someone so beautiful be deemed as deadly? there was no way someone so caring and loving could cause so much damage to someone who birthed and raised them. 

"why does that matter if they're connected? wasn't the park jimin case closed two years ago, too?" jin asked.

"indeed it was, but there was something all too familiar about the park jimin case that made me think of this one," haneul explained.

"how do you think they're connected?" jin asked, leaning against haneul's car.

"well, with the jeon jungkook case, the teen himself wasn't even home at the time, but he had no alibi. much like park jimin. however, the two of them both had an argument with the victims the night before which served as their motive," haneul explained.

"okay, and?"

"if they were both intoxicated, how could both of them make precise targeting? how come, if it were them, their victims didn't try and speak to them? the reports themselves say that the victims fought back, so where are the marks on their bodies to prove so?" haneul spoke, the pieces of the puzzle falling into place.

"so, what you're basically saying is--"

"yes. jeon jungkook and park jimin were framed by the same person."
