"ya! hanny!" jin shouted, causing heads to turn in to his direction.
"oh, jin! what's up?" haneul asked. jin gripped haneul's shoulder to steady himself. haneul couldn't help but laugh at the lengthy boy.
"jin, you literally ran five or six feet. i thought namjoon would've installed some sort of stamina in you," haneul teased.
"ya! leave our sex life out of this," jin pouted, his breaths staggered and short.
"you had something to tell me?" haneul giggled, patting jin on the back.
"oh, right. you know the unborn fetus's? well i had the lab test to see if they had any shared dna from the father," jin smiled, as if he had discovered all the worlds unknown secrets.
"and?" haneul asked excitedly.
"well, they were nearly a perfect match. almost 100%!" jin chuckled in amusement.
"so that means..."
"yeah, that eun hui and hyun-ae had an affair with the same man," jin finished. haneul shook her head in disbelief.
"i can't believe i was actually right," haneul muttered under her breath.
"you're pretty good at this detective stuff. why didn't you become one?" jin asked.
"i don't run. and, the real action is watching the true crazies try to kill you. i get to show them my martial arts and kickboxing that i've prepped for," haneul chuckled.
-
"ms. kim haneul?" a small voice called from outside the door of her office.
"oh, come in," haneul beckoned.
the door squeeked open, revealing two bodies: one clad in an orange jumpsuit and the other an officer uniform.
"i have patient jeon jungkook here," the officer spoke.
"first day?" haneul asked, a small smile on her lips.
"is it that obvious?" the officer chuckled nervously.
"no worries. just bring him in, uncuff him and please wait outside," haneul smiled.
"un.. uncuff him? isn't that dangerous?" the officer asked.
"it is if you aren't properly trained. don't worry. jeon jungkook wouldn't hurt me," haneul smiled, eyeing jungkook. jungkook's eyes widened for a fraction of a second before turning his head away.
"okay then. i'll be right outside," the officer said, pushing jungkook into a chair and uncuffing him. the officer swiftly left, leaving jungkook and haneul alone.
"hello, mr. jeon jungkook. i'm kim haneul. how are you hanging in there?" haneul smiled, pulling out the infamous pen and paper.
"i'm tired and confused," jungkook answered honestly.
"what is there to be confused about?" haneul asked honestly.
"i'm confused as to why i was transferred to a mental rehabilitation center, sitting in front of a pretty girl. aren't i supposed to rot away in a prison cell for what i've done?" jungkook asked, his eyes burning holes into the ground.
haneul smiled at the compliment and immediately thought of jimin. oh how she missed that beautiful man who sent waves of excitement through her.
"well, mr. jungkook, you're here because i requested you be transferred here. so we could talk," haneul answered.
"what? why me?" jungkook asked, finally raising his head to meet haneul's gaze.
"well, because you're innocent of course. and so is park jimin and min yoongi," haneul smiled. jungkook shook his head at this nonsense.
"what are you talking about?" jungkook asked, his hands clasping together to rest on his thighs, his posture straight and perfect.
"well, i've recently gained park jimin's case. something about your situation and his seemed all too familiar. your victims died in similar ways and you and park jimin were intoxicated during the incident. i think you two, and min yoongi, have been framed," haneul sighed, crossing her legs and casting aside her note pad and pen.
"so, what now?"
"well, right now, we're working on getting your case, as well as jimin's, reopened. so they can finally be solved"
"you're out of your mind for a psychiatrist."
"so i've been told."
