/Violetta/
She could already hear Tomas tottering around in her house as she walked through the door. She toed off her shoes by the door and made her way into the kitchen where she found Tomas setting up the take away boxes. He looks up when he hears the door, smiling at her and beckoning for her to come and sit. She does what he says and lights up when she sees he got her favorite. She can't believe she almost forgot about this.
"Alright so I got the dishes you loved and I also picked up a cake for dessert." He sits down as well and tells her to dig in. She can't really seem to delve into it though, mind still stuck on the idea that this slipped her mind. Just goes to show how bad of a girlfriend she is once again.
Since she's been spending so much time with Leon, she's kind of been ignoring Tomas, telling him that she's busy on set when she's really just doing something with Leon. At the time, it seemed like it was alright since she's been trying to be Leon's friend again, but still ignoring Tomas like she has been is a bad girlfriend move.
"You okay?" Violetta realizes that Tomas has been talking this whole time and she's been too preoccupied by her own thoughts. She feels even worse.
"Yeah just- yeah." Tomas starts up with whatever he was saying again and Violetta stares at him, not listening just staring. He studies his features and starts to think back to a time when she would get lost in him, so invested in everything about him, but somehow it's changed. She stares at the man she claims to love, but can't seem to find what she loved about him anymore.
"Tomas?" She cuts in because she has to ask or else she'll continue to be on edge. "Have you thought about what's going to happen when you're on tour, like with us?" His fork hangs midair as he takes the time to think of an answer.
"Well I figured we'd still be together, it would just be harder to spend time with each other seeing as I'll be all over the world. But we can still call each other every day and text and Skype." Violetta nods as she asses his answer, not really convinced at all that it will happen like that.
"But how do we know? How do we know that we'll always be speaking? What if you're busy or I'm busy and don't have the time? And I means sure we can do all that, but how will I know that you won't go around dating someone else because you can't physically see me." He once again takes the time to think about it, staying silent as he thinks.
"Well, I mean I love you, isn't that reason enough." Violetta shakes her head. Love is surprisingly not reason enough. "So what is it you want from me exactly?" He asks, looking irritated now.
"I don't know, I just don't think it's enough. I can't seem to get my head wrapped around the idea that I won't be able to see you every day."
"It's not like we see each other every day now." He snaps, crossing his arms and frowning at Violetta. "I mean this past week you've been stuck on set, you've hardly bothered to call me." Violetta let's her own scowl show on her face as she snaps back.
"It's not like you really tried to contact me either. All I get are generic texts like 'have a nice day' or 'love you.' I just feel like you don't try enough." That makes Tomas break as he stands abruptly, slamming his hands on the table.
"I don't try enough, how many times have I been the one to make dates happened. It seems like all you ever do anymore is focus on your movie. I get that's important to you, but come on you can't even spare five minutes to be with me. " Violetta feels guilty as she watches Tomas break down in front of her. He sighs as he sinks back in his chair.
"Just tell me, is it because of him?" Her head shoots up as she stares questioningly at him. "I've seen the pictures Vilu, everyone speculates that you and your new costar are dating and I'm starting to think that too."
|Flashback|
It's almost the end of the school year, senior year to be exact, and the stress has been getting a little hectic what with choosing a university to attend. Violetta is sorting through a few of her acceptance letters in the theatre, not at all sure where she should go. She's been speaking with Leon about it, but she still has yet to choose one.
"Vilu!" She turns her head to find Leon running toward her with an excited grin on his face. "Guess what, guess what, guess what!" he chants, coming around the aisle to sit in the seat next to her.
"What?" She exclaims, excited because he's excited.
"I got in." He announces, showing her the letter he got in the mail that morning. She reads through it, smiling until she gets to the part about where the school is located.
"It's in New York." Leon nods, still bouncing and giddy. He shakes Violetta to get her in the spirit.
"Come on Vilu, be excited for me." He whines playfully.
"I am excited, it's just-" She fidgets a bit as she tries to think through her words. "It's so far away." Leon's enthusiasm wears off as her words sink in.
"Yeah I know, but you know that it's the school of my dreams."
"I do, but I don't think I'll be able to handle it if you're so far away." She whispers, voicing her insecurities.
"That's nothing to worry about, I love you and you love me and we can make it work. I promise." Violetta still isn't sure about the idea, but she does love Leon and she wants to make it work.
\Leon\
Every so often he wishes he never made that promise because it was too much to commit to when he was so young. He was still new to the whole being in love thing and he realizes a little too late that he let the best thing in his life go.
